Vols crack Katz's top-25

Coach k, and Izzo arent given that same treatment, Infact Izzos team wasn't even ranked pre season this year.

I get what you're though, the thing is that he's done that with crazy takented teams. If he were to miss on Noel's and Muhammad I don't know that next years team is at the talent level he's accustomed to. Jmo.

Cal has signed three straight #1 classes. No reason to think he'll have a huge disconnect from those to this class. I guess the writer is assuming he'll manage to do it again. Maybe not #1, but something close. If he misses on both though, they could struggle. Assuming Jones, Lamb, and three freshmen leave, they will have Harrow, Wiltjer, Poythress, Hood, Vargas, and whatever else he can scrape together.

You really think Lamb leaves? The boards I have seen don't really have him that high. I will admit I don't follow NBA Draft religiously.

Right now their class is #2, but obviously lots of time and players are left. The difference though is this years class so far for them doesn't have that STAR, like wall, knight, and davis MKG. Every year teir class has had the guy that probably would go #1 in the NBA draft I eligible, this year they don't, so far. I don't doubt caliparis recruiting at all, but there's only 2 big names that are those impact guys left on the board, Noels and Muhammad.

I'm not suggesting they'll be terrible, but as I said I'd kind of go like this: miss on both 10-15 land one 5-10, land both top 3.

Not sure if he will or not. I'm just saying "if". I do think he helped himself tremendously in the tourney. Led team in scoring for the tourney averaging 16.5ppg, over 50% from the field, 12-23 from 3 in six games. He has NBA size at 6-4 and 200+ lbs. He can handle the ball. Gets to the basket.
His stock may rise if he comes back, but he may decide to strike while the iron's hot. I would almost bet he tests the waters without hiring an agent.

Lamb and Teague where the 2 biggest questions as far as UK's underclassmen, as where they'd be drafted. Both of them played GREAT ball in the tournament and in the biggest game, so that will absolutely help their stock. IMO, lamb is about as good as he's going to get in college as far as numbers and stock. I think Davis, MKG, Teague, jones, lamb all declare.

Prett much exactly how I feel as well. The tourny really helped lamb an teagues stock IMO, and I think both will now declare.

However, if one of the underclass men comes back it'll probably be lamb.

Both Teague and Lamb are projecting late 1st round on ESPN. That's close to sliding into non-guarenteed money.

I bet Terrance Jones wished he would have went last year. His stock and fallen a lot. I thought he was pretty much top 5 last year.

As I've said lamb may be the guy to return, but I don't see his stock increasing too much. This draft is loaded too though so he may sneak into lottery next year. Hell probably declare and see how e grades out then make a decision.

Teague I think Is gone. With Harrow playing next year hell take a lot of teagues minutes at PG, and Teague may have to play that 2 guard like Bledsoe did, which if lamb returned could be an issue.

My guess is that Lamb stays, and the rest leave. That would set up for a starting lineup of Harrow, Lamb, Goodwin/Poythress, Wiltjer, and Noel (or Cauley if Noel goes elsewhere). That's pretty good, but I don't think it's Top 2 or 3 good unless Wiltjer learns to play defense.

Yes, his stock has slipped. Draft was weak last year, and he missed his money.

Pretty accurate, and of Teague stays and lamb goes just sub Teague for lamb. That lineup doesn't scare me, and maybe I'm just a hater, but it doesn't. I think UK had that perfect storm this year with David, MKG and miller being the main 3 IMO. I don't see anyone replacing those guys on next years team.

They'll be good with that roster, but not top 5 or NCAA championship good IMO. If they were though, id have to rethink my opinion of cals coaching ability from a x and o standpoint.

Word that's being passed to 2012 recruits is that all 6 are leaving.

Davis
MKG
Jones
Miller (Senior)
Teague
Lamb

Wiltjer stays, Cal visiting with Oriakhi from UConn in the next few days. Gross.

I believe all six put their names in. Lamb is the only one that I think possibly returns, but his stock is about as high as it will get following his strong tournament showing. Teague also had a strong tourney.

That's funny that cals visiting with oriakhi seeing as how SEC rules make it impossible for Oriakhi to come to a SEC school.

Edit: apparently the sec released a statement about this because Florida also after oriakhi: Said that if he enrolled in an academic program Uconn doesn't offer that he can request a waiver. 2 things I'm questioning...1. Wouldn't oriakhi had to of graduated in order for that whole loop hole to work? My understanding was he hadn't. 2. Doesn't the NCAA still have to grant oriakhi a waiver to be eligible immediately?

"@GoodmanCBS told Oriakhi will be able to play at SEC school if he chooses area of study not offered at UConn"

Yea I just edited my post, I don't get that.

Don't you have to graduate to be eligible for that? Has he graduated?

And doesn't he still have to get a waiver to play immediately?

Also jmo but, I don't see oriakhi going somewhere that he wouldn't be the starter. My guess is if UK lands him they miss on Noels, just my 2 cents.
