Vols in NBA Draft

Where did the other skills fit?

Also your memory sucks as I was comparing him to bone who destroyed those numbers jumping 42.5
You predicted that once he started going through without a and measurements his stock would continually decline, it’s doing the opposite.

So that number would put him in the top 5% of leapers in the NBA?
is that what you are saying?
I was referring to the guys at the combine, the combine that you said his measurables wouldn’t be impressive at and would cause him to slide…but realistically, he’d probably rank Top 10% in NBA with those numbers. You’re welcome to comb the last 5-6 combines and post those who beat him and are still in the league though if you’d like.

I believe you mean he would be in the 90th percentile. Or in the top 10%. Saying he is in the top 90% means 90% of the players can do the same thing.

Regardless, most of your top 8 picks or so don't participate, nor do a lot of the foreign prospects. So what he did was impressive, but I am willing to bet large sums of money that Jaden Springer isn't in the top 10% of the entire NBA when it comes to leaping ability. Just over the last few combines you don't have Zion, Ja Morant, Culver, Porter, Jackson, Bridges, Jaylen Brown, etc. There are 3 or 4 in this class that didn't participate that I would think jump higher than that.

If the other measurables place him that high then I will stand corrected. One solid measureable doesn’t make one an elite athlete like Bone though

I keep asking for the others measurables but you don’t answer. There must be a reason you don’t answer I guess

Where is Bone playing, now ? He had a chance with Fultz and Anthony hurt in Orlando, but blew it and hasn't played a minute since. Now, don't get me wrong, I hope Bone gets another chance, but Springer will probably be in the Association for 5+ years, while Bone could be done (hope not), after 2 years.

Edit: oops meant to quote @BruinVol

He’s got a decent stroke from out there. He just lost stepping into the shot a little this year. Imo
When he steps into the shot with his weight going forward he can be a solid shooter to go with his intangibles

Averaging 18 and 7 in the G League. He is developing. Magic have a ton of guards preventing his development. He needs to go somewhere where he can get more NBA playing time. When he was at the NBA level, he played 15 minutes per game which is solid for a bench piece

Whether or not Springer tests in the “elite” athletic range, he’s probably putting up better numbers than many (myself included) expected and improving his draft stock

I agree but as I have been asking I want to see the other measurables. Springer to me was a step slow and used his physical strength to get into the lane but didn’t blow by many defenders. Yea I am surprised he’s done this well as a leaper but I want to see how he fairs with the quickness measurables.

Maybe his ankle injuries gave him the appearance of being slower?

Speak for yourself. This is the most NBA playoffs I think I've ever watched. It's exciting to me when there's not a dominating team like when GS was going on that tear. I would have never guessed these would be the final 4 teams left.

I agree these playoffs have been more entertaining and, seemingly, have had higher interest but facts are facts and the reality (not opinion) is that the NBA audience in the US has been in a steep decline over the past decade or so.

Very possible and for his sake I hope that is correct

Has he already done those type things at the combine?
I don’t know how to link another site, but if you search 2001 NBA combine agility stats there is an article showing all the participants times

Was pretty average in the agility stuff…

31/55 lane agility
16/55 shuttle run
27/55 three quarter court sprint
6/55 standing vertical
6/55 max vertical

overall average would be 17/55
