He's the best on that site and apparently an idiot because no one and I mean no one has ever got an at large bid with as high of an rpi as we have. I wish we still had a shot, but, we don't.

As I said in another thread, before UNM got in with a 73RPI nobody had been in with that high of a RPI. And that was a 64 not a 68 team field like it now is.

The committee has Said they will use kenpom more than they will RPI, and our kenpom is NCAA worthy.

Once again, not saying we are a lock, but to say we have no chane because of our RPI simple isn't true.

I find it hard to believe that Tennessee would drop off his map like that. Marshall loses to an average Memphis team and somehow is still in the discussion. Tennessee loses to an average Ole Miss team and is no longer even in bubble consideration.

Tennessee would need a miracle to even be considered for the NCAA Tournament. 18-14 teams from weak BCS conferences don't just back into the tournament.

This. Not saying we will make it but it's hard to believe we go from first team out to not sniffing the conversation. A little too much was made of that game being an elimination game (I hope!)

I wouldn't classify Tennessee as backing into the tournament. Terrible at the beginning of the year, yes. Played poorly in their last game, yes. Backing into the tournament (if they were to make it), no freaking way.

One game doesn't make or break a team's candidacy for the NCAA Tournament. I've said all along that I didn't feel like Tennessee deserved to get in. However, a loss on a neutral court shouldn't drop a team down seven places. If Tennessee doesn't get in, it will be because of a below average OOC schedule and an abysmal record away from TBA. Last night's game won't be a significant reason for Tennessee missing out, if they do.

we were just on the outside or "just in" and then lost...that's really not dropping off the map so much as we were fighting to get in

As I said earlier, Lunardi has been known to really change his tune in the last 24-36 hours, and for no apparent reason.

Keep an eye on him, because he probable gets some inside info. If you see Tennessee randomly pop up from him, it's probably because he heard something, and that's a good sign if we see it.

As others have stated I don't see us falling off the map with that loss. Depending on the potential bid stealers, I think it's very possible we are atleast a team considered tomorrow.

We were last in and now nowhere in those first 8 out. We dropped atleast 9 spots according to lunardi, that's a huge drop for losing to a potential NCAA team in ole miss.

Example, northwestern was just barely in and lost to a BAD Minnesota team but is still considered????

A conference with 6 teams in consideration isn't *that* weak.

Fair point. There is no one capable of competing with Kentucky though. Vanderbilt and Florida have definitely underperformed compared to how good they were "supposed" to be. Bad was the wrong word to use, but so is good. I am not sure who these six teams are though. UK, UF, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Mississippi State , and....? Are you still counting UT or is it Ole Miss? It is very possible that only four of those get in.

Other teams were also on the bubble and lost to teams on the same level as an Ole Miss type. They didn't just vanish away.

The point was that atleast 6 or 7 are being CONSIDERED...

How. Any PAC 12 teams are being considered? 2 or 3?

I see no way they let us in. We hope but Texas will get NCAAs sympathy. Biased also if between us Drexel and Northwestern we will be left out imo. NU will get sympathy for never making it and Drexel will get those that dont watch games but look at RPI. Not to mention Id say behind closed doors some will think Tennessee got off too lenient with NCAA infractions committee.

Are they being considered? None of these Miss Cleo wannabes is on the selection committee. The SEC will most likely get four or five teams in. I'd venture a guess that only that many will be seriously considered too. Sadly, that loss last night made Tennessee an NIT team barring some strange planetary alignment and a rigged selection process with Mike Slive and Hart spending time under desks. If you want to hope for a bid then do it. It is remotely possible, I guess.

Perfect example is northwestern losing to a much worse team than ole miss in Minnesota.

Northwestern has no business making the tournament. I think Tennessee has a better shot than the wildcats. They finished 8-10 in the conference and then lost to a weak Minnesota team. They're not making it.
