Vols Running Into The Perfect Storm (Literally & Figuratively)

My heart says will put out a win by field goal.

However, my gut tells me that OSU will win by a minimum of 10 pts.

Think about this: OSU has the talent (if not one of the best in the country) but never figured out how to put it altogether.

1.)Everyone and their uncle has trashed the program for the last month
2.) Coach on the brink of getting fired
3.) They're humiliated by their rival Mich.
4.) No one is given them a chance to win the Championship, when they were everyone's pick at the beginning of the season
5.) Media and fanbase has, literally, turned on them to the point where we're about to take over the horseshoe
6.) A lot of us Vol fans are under-estimating the cold weather. I seriously doubt we have a passing game, so we'll have to depend on our running game?
7) The Buckeyes are due for a breakout moment

I hope I'm wrong - my heart says the good-guys 24-20, however, my head says OSU is about to run the table and win the championship.
I think your giving the Buckeyes and Ryan Day too much credit. He’s a choke artist! Don’t see their OL slowing down our pass rush. I know they played UGA well but that was with Stroud.

The only things that can stop the Vols from winning are 1. the refs and 2. the weather. So many officials have it out for Tennessee and they’d better not pull any BS tomorrow. The weather will suck, so if we loose a close game tomorrow I will absolutely blame the stupid committee for the seeding because everybody knows we’d smoke them at our place.

Jeremy Pruitt and Butch says hello
That streak of road losses to AP top 10 teams reaches all of the way back to 2006. Way before either of those guys.

As far as our present coach goes, the recent important road losses (not necessarily top 10..) include '22 UGA & South Carolina -- '23 Florida, Bama & Mizzou -- 24 Arkansas & UGA. We can buck that trend later on tonight.

Sometimes you cannot fix broke and it appears the fans OSU could care less. I wonder if this is a carry over to the team.

I believe Tennessee has held back all season this could have and should have been a second or third Rd game.

This is definitively a test for Ohio State vs Tennessee. We talk about the grinds and there is never a gimme in the SEC. Having that experience gives our Vols an advantage. We are tested. This Cold Weather is what it is, crap.

Has Ryan Day lost his players? We know for a fact he has lost a good portion of the fan base, but if he has lost his players (which I doubt), he is in for a long saturday night
I’d say it’s somewhere in between, There is lot of players & fans on the fence. If they say those 4 dreaded words in 1st Q “ here we go again”. If that happens the fence could fall down. Both teams need good starts.

Heck, I want to win this game as much as any other Vol fan, but I don't care how we do it. My gut tells me it's a close game either way. We have far too many fans talking smack. I hope these hyperbolic claims as to how we are going to dominate them come true. Any kind of intelligent inference says it isn't likely. That we're in the freaking playoffs is huge in itself. We got a ****** draw. We have, by far, the toughest route to the championship game. Those type of nuances should be fixed in the next couple of years
My wife from Ohio. We've have active bet... if TN loses, she throws away all my white T-shirts for 1 year... TN wins and she stops smoking for a year. Her entire family fired him last year.
Anything short of a Natty, Ryan Day is 37$ million richer and jobless. GBO!!!

Unfortunately, I saw this coming a mile away. We just ran into a buzz saw tonight.

That said- Its not over, however, we can't go down by more than 2 td before halftime. If we cut it down to 14 by halftime, then we get the ball to start the 2nd half and cut into the lead by 7 and make this a game.

Me too. I’m not sure we make it into the endzone tonight.

At least in my eyes, that tOSU team was on a different level than this one.

Their QB and O-line aren't setting the world on fire by a long shot

The Suckeyes no doubt have the more talented team. They also are not used to being punched in the mouth-they play 2 maybe 3 at most games a year that they could conceivably lose

TN comes out pouring on more and more steam beginning with the kickoff, and I could very well see the Suckeyes begin to question themselves and each other

Pressure either creates diamonds or it destroys you.
Buckeyes look like a 10 karat with Flawless clarity.

At least you don’t have to blame the committee.
