There should only be two Big 10 teams in the playoff. This might be hard to take for fans of other conferences, but the SEC should have 6 teams in this playoff.Idc if bama is in their bc I do think they are a top 12 team, but they should do 5 sec teams not 4 sec and 4 big 10. That penn state ranking is an absolute joke and it’s going to cost us a playoff spot
Bama's also currently beaten 4 teams currently ranked in the committee's rankings: #12 Georgia (7-2), #21 South Carolina (6-3), #22 LSU (6-3), #23 Missouri (7-2). That's alot of what keeps buoying them up so much at 2 losses. We are out if we lose Saturday night. They want bammer in there.
Except with us, our win over Bama doesn’t seem to be carrying much weight at all. Ohio state and Tennessee are the only two 1 loss teams with a top 10 win. They are #2 while we are #7.One thing to take away from this, the committee very notably pointed out with Ole Miss that they hold/value good wins much more/higher than they do bad losses.
Ole Miss's 28-10 win over now #12 UGA easily more than balanced out their 20-17 loss to a currently 3-6 Kentucky team. (Not to mention 6-3 South Carolina now being ranked also further boosts their resume)
Once a team is no longer undefeated, their having wins over really good teams seem to be more of determining factor than bad losses / losses to bad teams.
Committee seems to value big wins over bad losses. Ole Miss lost to 3-6 KY and a falling lsu but comfortably back inI know we don’t want to admit it, but our SOS isn’t the greatest and our loss is bad. Shouldn’t have lost to Arkansas. We’d be #1 or #2 at this point and not having this conversation. Gotta just play the games in front of us.
