Vols to add another commit to '15 class? (Joseph Young)

I like Butch and I believe he will stick to his word BUT why would he have to follow through on blueshirts?

I think we will follow through though as long as the kid follows through on his end.

Don't make the promise unless you're going to pay up when it comes due. If you don't want to make the promise, call it like it is. Its a walk on spot and no promise of anything.

First time he doesn't, he won't be able to use that option anymore...won't sell. Butch offered this because it's there to offer...he'll honor them.

the three-star senior running back from fairfield central high school in winnsboro, s.c., admitted he’s now “pretty locked in with tennessee” after learning of his offer to become a late addition to its 2015 class, and he visited the vols on friday to take his first look at their program and meet with coach butch jones’ staff.

“everything was great,” said young, who’s ranked the nation’s no. 154 running back in the 247sports composite for the 2015 class. “i was very surprised how they run everything — academics, nutrition, workouts and everything. It seems like i’d enjoy it.

“i mean, you really have to try real hard to fail up there. It’s a great campus, great coaches. It’s just all-around good.”

“they were telling me there were 25 freshmen that, like, really (played) last year — the most in the nation — and they all did pretty good,” young said.

“they just told me to finish my academics out real strong, stay in the weight room and stay in great condition, ‘and you’ve got a good chance of coming in here and playing,’” he said.

“when i left, that really motivated me a lot.”

All reward, no risk. Not sure he's even a 4.5 40 guy but his high school ran our offense (essentially) and he has solid vision. Good depth guy.

Based on that info, he hasn't signed a LOI. I think both parties will let this play out awhile to see how things shake out.

That's how a blueshirt works...he shows up in the fall and has a scholarship...the fact that he didn't sign a LOI shows he's taking that route to become part of this team.

Blue shirt is nice because we aren't out a scholly if he can't qualify. Don't qualify, don't get the scholly.

So he's not actually playing this year right?

Maybe ... Depends on how Kelly does in front of him...he'll end up being the fourth best back... So they'll probably give him some reps.

Don't take this wrong, but in build he looks and runs like Hurd. He is like a smaller version of him, same upright running style and gliding stride. Could definitely give us some depth. Also either he is way faster than his listed speed or the teams he played against were crazy slow. which would explain the low rating (competition).
