I can assure you that Heupel and company conducted more scouting research than just glancing at a video posted by More Important Issues’s Twitter account. If the professional's deep dive results in one hand picked highlight where the receiver creates little to no separation against UTSA, then yeah, I'm going to question the conclusion. I'd prefer many other receivers in the portal including Juice Wells and Eric McCalister.
No one would bat an eye if I were to praise a prospect and say how good he was. But God forbid I criticize one and prefer more talented targets. It's ok to have a negative opinion and not be a professional scout just like it is ok to have a positive one and not be a professional scout. One of the most important human qualities (and unfortunately most people lack it) is having an understanding of what topics do I have the enough intel and mental capacity to form an accurate opinion vs taking crumbs of limited knowledge and limited ability to analyze that info to form ill-informed opinions.
Tate Ratledge, from UGA.
Rumors, he may be leaving. If so UT looks to be the spot, hopefully our coaches want him lmaoooooo
But it would sure up our OL, especially LG and I’d argue we would have a top 3 OL in the SEC next year.
None of that had anything to do with my post. That scenario you described is exactly the same as what I described. The posters that watch a 2min highlight reel and then declare one of our recruits to be the next All-American to play for UT is doing the same thing. Know what you know. Know what you don't know. And use common sense in life. Recognize when other people have not only more intellect in a certain situation but even more importantly recognize when they have far more intel. That is what my post was referencing. No one would bat an eye if I were to praise a prospect and say how good he was. But God forbid I criticize one and prefer more talented targets. It's ok to have a negative opinion and not be a professional scout just like it is ok to have a positive one and not be a professional scout.
