Vols win out. Dooley stays

Hey Team,

Vols win 35-20. We beat Vandy by 7. We take UK to the woodshed and mushroom tat them in the face. And mess up Miami in the Music City Bowl.

It's going to be one of the History Channel Men Who Built Volnation stories.

As much criticism as Dooley gets for the D, look at the O. He has built a top 5 offense and a top 5 coaching staff.

But adversity has struck the team on D. No great man ever had it easy. It's in these times that Legends are born. UT seems to be a family that never gets down on themselves. A family that has the confidence and talent to put up points and make the stops on D.

Sal will go at the end of the year. But Dooley will stay. So will Bray and CP. The D will return all of it's starters (other than a criminally slow Herman Lathers). The vols will be back.

Nay sayers climb on if you want some... You got 2 days left. Then the wheels go in motion... And by January 1st you as well will be behind Dooley for 1 more year.

Hey Hey UT you look so good to me.

Just to let you know Herman lathers has 4.5-4.6 speed and aj Johnson is 4.7-4.8. Look it up. Lathers isn't the problem.

Other than that I like the optimism, but our defense will still be slow next year until recruit speed or graduate some slugs

The game will be interesting. Missou was is a tough match with Florida and lost 14 - 7. UT has struggled at times against good defenses.

I agree he'll be back if we win out.

I also think it means his firing is delayed a year, because next year is going to be more the same. So in the end we're delaying it a year.

If no big name will take this job this year, then sadly I agree we might as well keep him. It's going to suck, and next season I'll probably be the least interested going into the season that I've ever been, but it will be what it will be.

he is a good tackler. but, he is incredibly slow.

it's amazing he was offered a scholarship at linebacker. the fact that he actually starts is scary.

he's a much better fullback

How much fail are you going to dump on this thread anyway?

If we win out he will be back. Not saying it will happen, but mizzou, vandy, and ky aren't very good either.

This "win out" argument baffles me. How can anybody reconcile 4 wins against terrible competition with the losses we've already had? These next few weeks aren't going to change how abysmal we looked against real competition

I'm hoping OP meant top 5 offensive coashing staff?? Graham and Pittman are great. Definitely a stretch though as I'm not overly impressed with Cheney. That said, the offense ain't to blame. IF we come out and win the last 3 and a bowl and IF our defense has massive improvement with Sunseri not calling plays, I could see Dooles coming back.

If he is back I will disown UT football until they hire someone else and I'm an Alumni. But I will support everything else. Call me bandwagon not real fan it

Sal is out of the play calling and we are too d@mn talented on Defense not to turn it around.

See, this is where your theory went wrong. Tennessee is not talented on D. In fact, they are horribly UNtalented on D. The coaching is bad, but the players are physically and mentally slow.

Seeing Neyland sit half empty and watching Dooley finger-count the players on the field for another year would be loads of fun. On the bright side, he has learned how to count correctly.
