Rather than saying think twice, it should say think period. I swear TN has some of the most ignorant "so called" fans in the history of sports. They bash administrators (past and present), athletic directors (past and present), coaches (past and present), players (past and present), future recruits, and fellow Vol fans. Some of you whiny biotches need to get a life!

Your Alma Mater is in the middle of the HILLS of East Tennessee. We are hillbillies! If you have a problem with hillbillies and rednecks, you need to reevaluate your allegiances. I am sure Lame would welcome you and your higher calling to USC. You are the "kind" that we talk about when we talk about that "kind". And that isn't a compliment.

That "kind" are the educated people from all over the State, who took degrees at the University of Tennessee. We don't want our alma mater misrepresented by the ignorant, stupid, mean, and ugly...who have taken nothing more at our school than a large soda and a leak in a urinal.

I was embarrassed by the reaction of my fan base to Tee's decision. I think I still am. But I like to think on the positive side. Can my fan base be embarrassing? yea. Can they jump to conclusions to fast? yea. Maybe it is just because I grew up in TN and don't live there anymore but this is the craziest, most mean spirited, most unforgiving, most wonderful fan base I will ever have the pleasure of being a part of.

Blaming an entire fanbase for a few over the top folks is just ignorant. Fans are not accountable to anyone but themselves, and can have any opinion they want. On the other hand, well paid employees are accountable. Maybe if they were better at their jobs, the fanbase wouldnt be so upset. Truthfully, the fans are likely the only thing this program has going for it. Fan turnout has always impressed visiting recruits and intimidated visiting teams. Fans buy tickets and fill that huge stadium everytime a decent team takes the field. One of our top selling slogans is 'imagine playing in front of 100k+ screaming fans all clad in orange". Fans dont owe the administration, or coaching staff, or anybody anything. In fact, it is the other way around. The sooner you all realize that, and hold the admin accountable for their work history, the sooner you can quit telling yourselves "it could be worse", or "maybe our expectations are just too high", or whatever it is you tell yourselves to make it all better.

A big problem, at least on VN is mods rarely moderate. If you go in recruiting threads 90% of the posts are about everything but that recruit and devolve into protracted pissing matches. Instead of merging threads they allow 50 threads ranting about 1 thing. Something needs to be done because the vocal minority is making us look like a bunch of fools.

That in and of itself is the funny thing and it is not something specific to VN but prevalent on most boards that cover sports/games/entertainment. I saw it for years on gaming boards I moderated. You might have 10,000 registered users. 90% of them never even post so out of that you likely have 1000 or so regular posters and out of that 1000 you might have 50 jackwads. Problem is those jackwads are the biggest spam-monkeys in the universe. Most of them have insanely high post count (not meaning having high post counts makes u a jackwad but most have high post counts or they make multiple accounts (llamas aka lamers).

Polls are actually good indicator of this. One example is that unless VN is in full on 103 octane mattress burning mode polls almost always come out with results that are totally opposite of what you'd think they'd be if you read the posts. The vast majority of VN are fairly sane people the problem is the most vocal are the ones that actually have the least to say. Most guys with 20000 posts have most of that 20k from one line "grunts" and "groans".

The AD dept has swept a tremendous amount of info under the rug and we will never know what happened. I dont have sources and dont want any. What i do want is the best coach and the best damn football program in the nation. And hell yeah im upset.

Others are just plain FOS, like the guy that says he is a die hard fan but since we hired coach x instead of coach y he is never going to another game. That is not a die hard fan a die hard fan supports his team no matter what.

Our problems are our problems and instead of keeping it inhouse we act like the angry x throwing the boyfriends clothes out the window onto the sidewalk. It needs to stop. People need to realize that we are making ourselves look like idiots and it affects our team believe it or not.

We should sell out every single home game winning or not. Neyland deserves that. An empty stadium hurts us. A good fanbase can bring in recruits to a place where they never would have thought of going. Ours fans chase them away because yes initially those kids see a great fan base till something bad happens then those same guys that loved you are throwing you under the bus and running you over.

All of the same guys that were calling Bray the second coming of Peyton before he started a game are the same ones that can't wait for him to be gone now. Read the post history on some of these mattress burners and you'll be in for quite a trip down the bi-polar express. Read a gameday thread how guys blow a gasket over one play...... in the first quarter..... for a positive gain.
