Sure, but do you really want to subject yourself to Russia’s political ambitions allowing them to use the spigot as a weapon? The nuclear component is what escapes me more than the other. Makes no sense.

The Germans really have no choice. Its either rely on Russia or rely on the US? I'm not certain where this faux concern of Russia turning of the gas comes from outside of Russia doing it in Ukraine because they owed them close to $2 billion.

Germany doesn't have the most powerful military in Europe, heck I doubt they are even in the top 5. They have the strongest economy in Europe and I think you are getting mixed up. Based on Army rankings, it probably looks something like this:

1. Russia
2. France
3. United Kingdom
4. Turkey
5. Poland
6. Germany
7. Italy

Definitely Russia and France are in the top 2 I know, not quite sure after that but I would go with UK and Turkey having big armies than Germany.

I'm not sure Sweden and Finland will actually join, but the discussion has certainly changed.

Nonsense. I’m told Russia just wants an old territory back and to save the poor people of Ukraine from foolishly being tricked into governing themselves. The Russian aggression stops there.

If you control the situation (they do) and you don’t intend to attack then you don’t need to evacuate your embassy. They did so yes they are going to attack and soon. That is a telegraph moment on intent
