War in Ukraine

I remember the day he died because my nana (who was Louisiana witch) said "the devil came and took him away." I was on my own ever since, and an American. That is what Americans are. I am not afraid of you. I have already been looked at.

Russian MP Aleksey Zhuravlev called for the creation of volunteer units to defend the separatist areas.

"We must defend the Russian world and show this Bandera bastard that we Russians are always together"

nearing 50 and yes my dad died when I was 3. also, i go to bed early and wake early. I also don't have commitments to any political agendas, and i can speak my mind. i am also very honest with a sense of duty. my dad taught me that, and i am very familiar with digital security (although it's getting away from me with time)
You must have been a very mature 3 year old.

I'm young, but not so young as not to remember the media ginning up a war in Iraq. Why anyone would view this as some "conspiracy theory", when the media has proven over and over and over to be nothing but fear-mongering, uncritical stoolies for the corporate/government conglomerate is beyond me.

Are you saying you don't believe that the Russians have massed troops in the manner reported ?

there is a reason folks from the south are different ok. there were no people. there was woods, clay, and sand. you raised yourself. now we are dealing with the internet. it's a different world.

How do you quietly and subtly report that a massive war machine is gathering on the borders of a free and independent country?

That's a stretch.

I'm saying that even if they have, I'm not sure they have the intent to invade. I have no idea. It's hypocritical to me to say one side (Russia) is peddling propaganda while the other (the American media) is spreading pure truth.

I think more of what I am seeing is the media trying to rally the populace into an armed conflict with the Russians. We have no business in a war in Ukraine (neither did we have any business in a war with Iraq, or nation-building in Afghanistan) nor do I believe our military is capable of succeeding in a near-peer, conventional conflict.

You report that there is a troop buildup, not repeat ad-nauseum, and unquestioningly, the claim of "imminent invasion" every day for weeks on end as if it was fact and not opinion.

The media is reporting exactly what the leaders are saying. That's what they're suppose to do. If the leaders are wrong they have an obligation to report that too.

There is just no way to report a lead up to a potential major war without it being somewhat sensational.

Let's just say by the age of seven I knew how to shoot a gun and spent my days floating down the river in a flat bed boat. It's a different world.
