Its been slowly going that way for 30 years, by early 2000s the Ukraine was asking for to a member of NATO, way prior to the coup and the first invasion. The whole plan was to put the squeeze on Russia economically, militarily, and isolate it to collapse. The funny thing is it did financially partially collapse in the late 90s. Once you had the neocons hanging out there in 2014 i.e. McCain, Biden, Nuland, etc. than it was going to go down hill fairly fast as that is what they wanted i.e. war.

The Ukraine is simply a pawn, for their to be long-term peace the pawn must be removed. Georgia is next in the pawn process which is why they are in the beginning phases of being sanctioned and isolated. Georgia has time to possibly get out of this but they better get to work.
The Ukraine is simply the pawn which got the note, "you're either with us or against us".
What was Biden doing? What was he not doing there? Heck, he admitted to federal crimes while Vice President.
It makes one really suspect of the mental condition of Obama, Hillary and Biden when not only do they commit serious felony federal crimes, but they even appear to boast and admit it live on camera.

Ukraine was told "no" in 2008 by both France and Germany who said they would veto any attempt to give them a MAP, and Ukraine didn't bring it back up till after Russia invaded in 2018.

It wasn't an issue until Yushenko survived being poisoned in 2004, and Putin failed to get his puppet Yanukovych installed in his first attempt to do so.
