War in Ukraine

Our foreign policy, for many decades, has been incompetently corrupt at best, intentionally pure evil at worst.

Unfortunately, many American young men have been sacrificed in pursuit of this. I have no qualms in cheering for American foreign policy embarrasment when it wont cost the life of our servicemen but bring shame and embarrassment on those in power. I do feel bad for the Ukrainians being needlessly sacrificed for the Western Death Cult, but when you live in a highly corrupt Country under western influence, this is what can happen. They are but a pawn.

You just confirmed what we've been saying. By wanting Russia to win and the US and the West to be embarrassed makes you a troll here where practically everyone is pro American. We have our differences and it is a serious problem but we all still believe in our Democracy and the freedoms it guarantees. Only about 3 guys here are supporting this iron fisted dictator who murders and imprisons any and all opposition. We oppose Russia because their system goes against the grain of all America stands for and they want to spread it throughout Europe. Again, you're just a ****ing troll.

Now what are you talking about? Every Trump-hater in here is waving the Ukrainian flag.

I was speaking to the point that a good number of the pro-russia folks seem to take that position to 'stick it to the libs' or because they think that putin and Trump are allies, or something like that. I was saying that even if the reverse were true, and if supporting russia were the 'anti-Trump' thing to do, I could never do that, regardless of my feelings on Trump.

Someone said it best: at the end of the day, russia is an enemy of the US, both Republicans and Democrats, and I would think we could agree on that. It stuns me that me that some Americans are so hyper partisan that they view supporting russia as somehow advancing their 'side's' agenda. putin despises the US, and doesn't give a rat's patootie about Democratic or Republican points of view.

Yup. Troll.

Just know that Ukraine has somewhere in the order of more than half a million who are now rebel fighters using pict like techniques. This is a modern war fought with ancient ways.

That is ridiculous. Nowhere did I say I want Russia to win nor do I care if they win. I want the American public to wake up to the nightmare that is our foreign policy. One would think after decades of disaster, the American public would wake up but the bread and circus is too good and the impacts of these disasters are only felt by a select few. This one is different. The American public is going to feel this foreign policy disaster and hopefully those in charge finally pay a huge price for it.

Also, I wouldn't get all high and mighty comparing what Russia stands for vs the US, these days. We arent near what we used to be...and neither is Russia.

If true, I have to be the most accurate "troll" on the internet. Weird how the things I posted months ago keep proving to be true.

I'm happy for you that you take delight in russia's success. I guess we all need a hobby,

russia/putin bootlicker is as good as any, I suppose.

There you are trolling again. To paraphrase: I'm not for Russia I just want to see Ukraine smashed and the US dragged over the coals. At least that's what your posts over the last seven months and ^^^^^^ would indicate. You cannot have it both ways.

I dont want to see Ukraine smashed either. I've been in favor of a ceasefire agreement from day one, knowing Ukraine WOULD be smashed. I dont take delight in the suffering of innocent Ukrainians but I do delight watching Ukrainian/NATO leadership disgrace themselves. If only they could be the ones eating mortars in those trenches.

Under no circumstances would I ever hope for NATO troops or leadership come under russian fire.

Amazing that you would wish for that.

Russian leadership does seem superior at eating mortar.

How has Ukraine and NATO leadership disgraced themselves? It appears to me they have deported themselves pretty well. NATO is providing aid to a neighboring country who is being illegally and immorally assaulted by a powerful criminal dictator. Every indication is that there is some pretty strong and determined leadership in Ukraine. They wouldn't still be in the fight against Russia if there weren't.

"months ago" the ruskies were supposed to win in less than a week. Did you call for them becoming the biggest first world pariah's since Hitler's reign, having two more NATO members added to the fold, having to settle for trying to stake claim to the Donbass region after having their asses handed to them everywhere else, facing an "extraordinary casualty rate" and having to dig in and hope for a war of attrition using 1970's technology while having their Naval flagship turned into a scuba attraction?

If that was your call, then it was a good one.

He didn't say he wanted NATO troops coming under fire. He clearly stated NATO leadership disgracing themselves. All of these Western leaders have shown their incompetence and their corrupt nature. Let's hope they learn to de-escalate and not push us into a nuclear exchange once they realize they are not as all-powerful as they may have believed and decide to turn over the chessboard.

Yup. Darned NATO, invading a sovereign nation with zero international consensus or legal justification. And darn NATO for indiscriminate targeting of civilians and other non-combatants.

Wait.....you mean that WASN'T NATO? I could have sworn that russian troops in Ukraine were there solely because putin wanted to drive off the evil NATO forces, Nazis, etc...flavor of the day.

Focusing on the fact that NATO isn't perfect in order to deflect from a targeted discussion of russia's invasion of Ukraine with ZERO legal basis......why, that is a classic example of russian whataboutism. Well played, troll. Well played.

. . . but I do delight watching Ukrainian/NATO leadership disgrace themselves. If only they could be the ones eating mortars in those trenches.

Pretty sure that is exactly what he said, unless 'they' suddenly has switched to another noun.

I haven't seen much on Ukraine lately and it seems like a heavy read. What does this war look like right now? Is it a stalemate?

Bloody hard earned small gains by Russia in Donbass. Bloody hard earned liberating small gains by Ukraine in Kherson. Western artillery is making a difference.
