War in Ukraine

You know what? I had planned on reading the posts I missed today while working, but this post by @Burhead about invoking Article 5 over a cyberattack is just too much. I have to laugh in order to keep from going crazy at the idea that a cyberattack on The Mouse That Roared can kick off a nuclear exchange and many of you would be 110% down for it.

Did I say I support it? However national governments are going to have to determine how to respond to cyber attacks in the future as do any military alliance such as NATO. Hypothetically speaking say a state sanctioned attack occurred against a NATO member and it shuts down the power grid and forces it to stay down for days/weeks as repairs occur: food spoils in grocery stores, hospitals run out of fuel for back-up generators, the break down of law and order starts and people start dying. After power is restored it is determined country A launched the attack. Does the loss of life/economic costs that resulted from the shut down/cyber attack justify the invoking of Article 5? That's a question we're going to have to answer and I'm not sure what the proper response should be.

I bet most the militaries in Western Europe and Scandinavia are twice as woke.
I know the Germans were in incredibly bad shape for a good little while. They sorta adjusted about 5 years ago, but it sounds like it's being adjusted even more. Now idea where it's going to end up, but much more military and much less pride.

If NATO responds I think it would be a cyber attack on something related to the war like transportation of military equipment.

You understand that Russia will win. It's suicide for Ukraine to keep fighting this war

Heh.

1. You're wrong.
2. If someone invaded our country would you just stop fighting? If so, you're part of the problem.

HIMARS + US intelligence = Russia going bye bye.
