War in Ukraine

Most likely. Russia’s energy bribery scheme is going to fail as spectacularly as its 3-day special military operation.
This isn't Russia's doing, WTF are you talking about? The Europeans are the ones sanctioning themselves, genius. All they have to do is snap their fingers and turn on Nordstream 2... at minimum. Where in the hell do you get that Russia initiated this situation?

By invading ukraine. The Europeans are showing guts and balls. They will take it on the chin for a few years but Russia will be a third world country forever. This backfired on Putin. Only an imbecile would suggest otherwise. He assumed Europe would cave bc of their energy dependence. Oops.

Russia isn’t yet sure to lose this economic fight. But a growing consensus among officials, energy specialists and econo-mists suggests that, although Russian actions will cause serious hard-ship in many places, Mr. Putin will likely fail and that Europe should ride out the winter without running out of gas. Once this winter is over, Mr. Putin’s sway over Eu-rope’s energy supplies will have withered criti-cally, they say.

Vladimir Putin’s Energy War With Europe Seems to Falter

That isn't why the gas isn't flowing, silly. The Europeans decided to not buy Russian gas. That isn't a Russian scheme. That is just a boneheaded decision by the Europeans.
They decided to tell Russia Foff. And it will be viewed as his fault when Russia has zero influence. They are a vassal state to china. Congrats to you and Vlad. So smart so wise. Enjoy being their biatch forever

Leftist commies wouldn’t even approve $3 billion for a border wall.

The US has sent over more than $15 billion in aid so far, but Schumer says now is the time to strike with even more American financial help.

Schumer calls for $12B more in US aid for Ukraine's war effort
Now you can put Schumer right up there with the likes of Bolton, McCain and the Bush family.

Way to go democrats. Your party has officially gone full neocon now.

Horseshoe theory in full effect.

Only from the United States and Europe media heads. The vast majority of the world doesn't care, nobody really cares. Russia sends Europe gas and oil, what do they get back in return... bunches of paper. Oh, by the way, the United States/Europe has been stealing piles of their paper.

Bravo, now lets do a rinse and repeat in Taiwan.

The translator attacked a sovereign nation.

What does that have to do with not getting gas and oil? LOL The choice was theirs, but not really their master told them what to do i.e. the United States. Those European nations are about as sovereign as the Ukraine.

Heck, someone wants to beat themselves over the head with a baseball bat there isn't much anyone is going to be able to do about it.

What, the cost of living in Russia is favorable to that in the US? I am shocked I tell you. Shocked.

The US is favorable to most of Europe as well. LoL (This is a very subjective topic, imo) I once paid $30 for a small garden salad in Austria at a hotel restaurant and this was almost 30 years ago. LoL

At the end of the day, I would say Europe is well down the path to a collapse. I am not saying they will get there and Russia won't but they are well down the path. Russia didn't cause this, Europeans are causing their own problems, and are not even doing anything about it.

Germans going for Russian pil production....this turns out well.

I like how they dont give any legal justification for this grab. The germans just nationalized private property without paying for it.

I would consider this far more escalatory than selling arms.

I noticed the lack of legal justification also. From another perspective, Russia has taken over a lot of Western owned facilities and equipment from companies that walked away from investments in Russia. I wonder how that nets out.

I read a couple of articles on this and the refineries are Rosneft assets. While Rosneft is a “public” company 50% is held by a Russian state shell company as is the same for Gazprom. The optics do look bad and those other 50% are private individuals whom lost their assets but underneath this is state on state economic tit for tat I think.

OK, so it confirmation bias. So what? It still doesn't nullify the idea that there are people out here that have the partioning of Ukraine in mind. Again, this isn't coming out of nowhere. These people are fully aware of recent history..."recent history" being in the past 100 or so years.
Poland isnt one to talk. They didnt exist just as much as Ukraine didnt exist at the time. Both were parts of the Russian Empire until its collapse a little more than 100 years ago. They even fought a war to establish the borders. Hungary lost its claims after WW1, which is also more than 100 years ago. Romania might want to look at a map and focus on some other land first, and its sparse claim to the region also stems to claims made in WW1, but never realized.

Its nationalism. Every country is going to claim land. And you, and I bet this author, dont sit down and establish what exactly makes one claim valid vs another.
