War in Ukraine

I really don't think so, but do believe that the military leadership and intelligence arms of the administration are concerned that Putin would do something desperate if this continues, some sort of big show of power. And if you think about it that's what our dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was designed to do -- compel surrender, "or else."
The most concerning thing was his talk of how that “set a precedent.”

Of course you don't think so, had an R POTUS said the exact same you would be screaming about them trying to get us into WWIII.

We need to extract ourselves from this conflict and if Europe wants to keep supplying Ukraine then fine, sell them the weapons but we need to stay out of it. Stop with the rhetoric like this and what they have said about the pipelines.

Honestly if the threat is nuclear it really doesn't matter if we are directly involved or not. We will be a target, directly or indirectly

Ratcheting up the rhetoric isn't helping. If Putin goes nuclear we're all in for a world of hurt.
I'm not defending Biden, I think he's a stooge, but it's a threat you can choose to ignore publicly or take head on. There are benefits and drawbacks to both. I personally don't think it influences the likelihood of Putin deploying nuclear weapons of any type one way or the other.

These leaders are playing mind games with each other and with the various populations. None of them wants to appear weak or unable to respond. I take all of their statements with a degree of scepticism.

I agree. It’s either in you or it isn’t, to pull such a move. Sane people don’t detonate nukes because of words. If he does it, it’s because he sees no way out and doesn’t have the decency to act like a normal human and take the medicine he asked for.

Russian State tv is having a difficult time rn.

He answered his own question. That "2 million strong army" consists of less than 200,000 active members, a sh!t ton of reservists, and all of their living veterans..

Bless their hearts they thought that they actually had 2 million combat ready troops..lol.

The US on the other hand, actually has over a million active troops.

A nuclear power is not going to let troops invade in mass or in mass threaten their border, all the nuclear powers would to do the same thing or similar.

None of this is complex.

Its just another weapon, the military was warning Congress in the 90s about the expansion of NATO for this reason i.e. tactical nuclear weapons. The smart move was to never play, but getting too late for that one.

Desperation is an empire trying to create chaos around the world in an strange attempt to keep the kingdom together.

The military concluded that NATO could never win a war with the Russians in Eastern Europe.

Russia asked for the smoke when they invaded Ukraine, if Ukraine pops off at their border isn't that something they should have considered beforehand?

The only ones threatening to take into Russia is Ukraine, the ones that got invaded. If Russia is so concerned about that perhaps they should withdraw troops and affirm the previous borders. Problem solved.

Edit I agree, it's not complex..... See above

Depends on who it was.

Bush, you are probably right.

Trump would not have made such a statement because he long ago would have yielded to Putin and gift wrapped Zelensky's head.

Reagan did make a joke about it, but at a time of less tension.

Where’s all this money coming from that the US is giving Ukraine? Hell, congress can’t even present a damn budget but hey….America first, right Joe?

Yet the indisputable facts show Trump was less cooperative and harder on Putin than Obama/Biden was and Biden (&Co) are now.
