You continually gloss over the fact that Russia instigated and supported a terrorist insurrection in that region and have been fighting Ukraine for almost 10 years there. Oh no. He will Baghdad Bob it, or Mission Accomplished. I am not sure the Ukrainians would take it, but let's say Russia agrees, and does, back out of the Donetsk region, and all other Ukrainian mainland territory, but gets to keep Crimea as a matter of peace terms. Putin will sell that as the victory condition he wanted. He never wanted that other land he will say.

Whatever conditions he accepts will be sold as what he actually wanted it. He didnt care about X, Y,or Z.

Doing an inventory of the Ukrainian military equipment would be real fun right now.

You could run a 6 digit, or fewer, random alphanumeric generator and have a 50/50 chance of creating a designiation serving in Ukraine.

So many countries, so many different weapons and equipment over the ages.
