War in Ukraine

So after 15 months, the Kyiv Regime shot down "a" Kinzhal missile.

And that is "winning"?
After 15 months they've fought Russia into a quagmire. Trench warfare and forcing Russia into high losses of equipment.

I know you like to pretend Russia is showing restraint....... It's laughable. Russia is a first rate world power with 3rd world tactics, command and control and limited intelligence capabilities. They are in a slugfest with their little brother.

He knew that even he isn’t that stupid. He’s just desperate to fabricate anything he can possibly try to flex on with all this bad news he’s got to carry the water for right now.

I do wonder what the fall out will be when Luka dies? Do the Russians go for broke and annex Belarus via the state union? Install another Luka clone and maintain the status quo? How will the Belarusian civil society and security forces respond?

Absolutely. That’s one of the few places they have any influence left in their former satellites. They will move in troops to “stabilize the situation and protect ethnic Russians” and then insure fair and democratic elections are held. Sound familiar?

Good points. My guess is there are so many Russians already living there it would be impossible for them to change sides without some shooting and they don't have the resources for that. Probably a Luka clone takes over. I also don't think the Russians want the headaches of assimilating another bunch of angry people after this experience in Ukraine.

That's the funny thing, Putin latches this to reassert Russian control over a former vassal state and they're probably going to lose even more. You know the Georgians are still seething over the scorched earth tactics used on them, they would love some payback. There are even Chechen volunteers fighting for Ukraine now.

Yeah... So let's talk about "if" it is not successful.

Sure. If it’s not successful, Ukraine loses some momentum in this war. How that affects their operation, morale and objective remains to be seen. I suspect they view this spring offensive as crucial to their success being a smaller force wrt numbers than Russia and having incurred heavy losses in the fighting over the past year and a half just as Russia has. However, modern weapon systems supplied by western countries probably have and will continue to help keep that number lower than it would have been otherwise.

If the UK offensive fails, they’re not folding the tent and going home. It’s likely a failure that only results in stagnation of current battle fronts. If they rout Russian forces, Putin’s longevity becomes very precarious. I do think that would greatly raise the chances that would begin an internal move by his own people to remove him.

Wouldn't be surprised if Putin gave him some polonium tea during his visit.

Russia has been trying to get Belarus more involved in Russia's war since before it began, and a dead Lukshenko, replaced by an even more spineless Putin puppet, would shepherd that along.

I had the same thought. Perfect Russian poison situation since Putin can’t seem to convince him to join the fight more than Belarus just being a staging ground and moral support.
