War in Ukraine

2 reasons mainly:
1. The Obama State Department overthrew the democratically elected Yanukovich in 2014 and then inserted a regime that tormented the people in Eastern Ukraine for 8 years with military attacks and discriminatory laws. That was a coup that was intended to be a pressure point and a staging ground for future aggression against Russia. No different than what Taiwan is to China, and what will likely soon be Kashmir to India if they don't turn away from Russia.
2. The people that are running Ukraine right now are supported by the same people here in America that are in power. The same corrupt entities that are running lawlessly here have overt interests in Ukraine. Not because they GAF about the people of Ukraine. It serves their geopolitical interests and Ukraine is a moneymaking scheme in every conceivable facet from skimming on pipelines going to Europe, to bioweapons labs, to weapons trafficking, to human trafficking, to narcotics, to MIC scamming, to just about any other hustle you can think of. These people need to be defeated.

What lengths? It's not like I'm distorting reality.

I didn't notice what you posted earlier as an answer to my question earlier until now. I don't know why. I think that's been answered already. This war hasn't been black and white. No different than any war. That's not a justification for Russia invading Ukraine. Even if that's being the case, the saying "two wrongs don't make a right"
comes to mind.

No offense, but it comes off as you having complete tunnel vision in regards to how you feel about the war. Like I said earlier, nothing is black and white, but Russia invaded Ukraine unjustly and are now finding out that it was a massive mistake.

I'm not going to even go back and forth with you anymore about the justification and the double standards. I've already done this dozens of times with other posters in here. IMO, you are either so brainwashed by the media and the White House and have lost the ability to be objective... Or you are just holding lingering Cold War biases... Or you just have it out against Slavs... and probably Chinese, and Africans, and anyone else that does live in "The Garden" as Josep Borrel says.

Unjustly? Oh my friend Ras disagrees

And he plays the race cards again........ It's predictable if nothing else.

Fair enough.... You're more than welcome to hold onto these views. I'm also fine with the fact that you no longer want to engage with me on this topic. I'm far from brainwashed by anything regarding this. I've actually researched the subject more the last couple of months than I have since it started. While I find it sad all around, it's an interesting topic to discuss.

In regards to the Cold War bias towards Russia. I'm completely opposite that what you think. I'd hope that they'd embrace democracy and get away from the past and Communism. With Putin ,that's not been something that I see being possible for a long time. As far as the racial bias, you don't know me because I have no reason to feel anything racial or xenophobic. I'm simply a guy from East Tennessee that finds this interesting and why Russia intends on continuing a war they aren't gaining anything from.

Either way, thank you for discussing it. Interesting to hear a viewpoint from the other end of things.

Lived in the same town. He was not rich. A lot of those small investments were insider deals to curry his favor.

Once worked with an attorney on a deal. He had been Lamar's Tennessee Commissioner of Revenue, so no lightweight. He had the best line," the only thing Lamar cares about is making money for Lamar." This was a guy in Lamar's inner circle saying that.

According to his senate disclosure forms his net worth was $4.8 million in 2003.

Considering that in 2003, for the entirety of the United States the median net worth, was about $80k, Alexander was "rich" then by any standard definition of the word.

Just admit you were wrong. He was wealthy. You pound your chest so hard. It's absurd. Take the obvious L. You might come off as a decent person instead of a pompous A hat

So how did he make his pre-political money? That would have to date back to the 60's when he gets out of law school in '66. I've seen the modest house where he grew up in Maryville. So it wasn't from his parents. His mother was a school teacher and his father was a principal. He goes to law school but doesn't go into practice instead he clerked for a judge. In 68 he goes to work as a legislative staffer for Howard Baker. More sucking from the government teat.

Then he works for Winfield Dunn's 1970 governor's campaign and after that you see him finally go private sector with his law firm in Nashville in '71 (hmm, wonder how much work he did for the state). But by '79 he is governor. Back on the public payroll in one form or another for pretty much the rest of his life.

So he made his wealth (now supposedly closing in on $100 million) in 9 years of legal practice plus his "amazing" investment expertise? Bull.

Your own article says he was worth $150,000 when selected governor in '78. So he wasn't wealthy before politics was he? Come on admit it, your article says it.

And then it cites the help of his "polilitically connected friends." What the hell does that mean? It means he got opportunities from his public office.

It was sweet deals with his political supporters.

One question I've never seen answered is whether he was part of the Howard Baker /John Duncan government theft of all the farm land down in Tellico that was turned over to Mike Ross to do the Tellico Village developments. Took land from people whose families had been there for 5-6 generations. I'm sure you know all about that.

These days most politicians are rich before being elected. Lamar got rich after being elected.

You seem to be taking this rather personally, Dkhead.

no he freaking wasn't.

he was jailed by the Nazis from 1941 thru 1944. Only gained his freedom from the Nazi's when they lost Ukraine and he was no use.

Bandera was jailed by the Nazi's because he wanted an independent Ukraine, and not a Nazi puppet.

do a little freaking homework, might also want to brush up on the German Tzarina you keep referencing.
