War in Ukraine

We'd been on vacation completely ignoring the news and were on the way back home years ago. Then as we were eating breakfast in a motel, we saw the Soviet Union had collapsed. It's one of those WTH moments; you go away for a few days and the world changes.
Yeah, we're watching history tonight

No I was permanent party, they were three story with four two man rooms per floor. Our MEDDAC company shared them with the MP's.

I was there for almost 9 months for radar school. Best part was that I could sign out after class on Friday night and drive home to middle TN for the weekend. Redstone was a pretty nice place to be overall. Until Covid, they also have had a nice program in September for military retirees - wife in my case; with all the additions, it's a pretty impressive base.

Saw this mentioned on social media but you have ex convicts who the Russian state sent to prison and then sent them to die in Ukraine is not a winning strategy.

Agreed, I was there for two years and loved being there. My GF (now wife) was in nursing school at UAB, so it was an easy drive every weekend.

You think? I tend to believe there will be some extreme atrocities if it gets intense.

I think this is the beginning of the end of the war in Ukraine if half of what is being reported is true.

That's good enough for me. If Russia suffers, so be it. You reap what you sow.

You really can’t ignore the dangers of political instability in a nuclear state. I’m not assuming Prigizhin is a white knight.

True….I’m just saying the inner turmoil in Russia could get really nasty.
I’m wondering if we’re seeing the results of some “long game” strategy that was put into place years ago as a result of Putin getting too big for his britches
