War in Ukraine

Then that shows that you are not very bright. The Minsk Agreements were ceasefire agreements.

WTF is the definition of a ceasefire?

Prior to 2022, it was a Ukrainian civil war with rebels backed by Russia. Russian official army was not involved until 2022. This is why the world didn't call it such and reacted to escalation. I am done in this thread. Losing brain cells. I am literally stating what was all over the news last year.

Even people arguing with me about China-Japan 1937 when nearly every historical article cites to Marco Polo Incident. No one in real life argues this stuff, only idiots online. I swear people know message boards are dumb as rocks.

Well you’re wrong on this and I don’t care what the media says. Ukraine by August of 2014 had basically defeated the DNR/LNR proxies and they only held a small amount of ground near the border. It was only the direct intervention of regular Russian forces that saved the DNR/LNR and then started pushing back Ukrainian units and taking territory. There is ample evidence of this.

I am sorry, saying the war started in 2014 is propaganda. It started recently. The engagement prior was limited and mostly non direct Russian support for insurgents and mercenary groups. If you use that definition, than you can argue USA is on 20 wars currently around the world.

The Russian invasion in 2022 was the first full scale military operation outside of the Crimea land grab which was not militarily opposed by Ukraine.
Russian soldiers were pretending to be rebels.

That being said, I do agree that 2022 was a different animal, and there’s a reason the world reacted differently. Before, people could allow themselves to believe it was a separatist struggle in a murky region. After 2022, it became impossible to deny it was a full blown war of conquest.

"Allow it to happen"

MAGAt support of Russia invading its neighbor, in an effort to "own the libs" is truly baffling.

Here we go. If anyone disagrees with giving Ukraine billions of dollars then they are a MAGAt and Putin puppet.

How about we (the USA) just stay out of it and worry about our own border and let Europe handle it.

Just saw in another thread, Biden is activating reserve forces because Zelenski has asked for more troop and weapon support.

I unequivocally disagree with send troops, equipment, and money to Ukraine. Originally, Zelenski said he wanted no personnel sent to Ukraine to help. I respected that position.

This is not our war. This is not our concern. There is nothing worth accomplishing to benefit America to justify pouring money, equipment, and american lives into the region.

These are two very poor, crap-hole countries which have nothing of value to offer us and we have no business interceding.

Get ready for the onslaught you Russian sympathizer

We can't and won't shut down our border. There's a reason neither political has or will. Those two things have nothing to do with reach other.

We've been over the numerous reasons "why", starting with out obligations in the Budapest memorandum, our need for stability in Europe for our NATO allies, and our need of stability in general for our economy.

By all means though, continue not side with Russia for the sake of opposing the actions of a president from the "wrong" political party.

Anybody with common sense and just a little bit of recent history should have seen this coming... mission creep. Happened in Vietnam with us only sending advisors. Happened in Afghanistan and in Syria.
We went from saying sending long range missiles that could reach Russia being a redline to now we are on the verge of sending boots on the ground. At what point will you guys be ready to come to terms with the idea that these guys are willing to take this thing nuclear?

Ukraine not joining NATO was an easy fix that could have been done in December 2021... or in 2008... or in 1997.

I don't care if they go nuclear. Apart from a Seinfeld scene, I've only ever thought about Ukraine bc the war.

Cool your jets there short stroke. We're sending support and logistics personnel to Europe because we are moving yuge quantities of arms and supplies through there. It takes a lot people to do that. Why can't we use the people who are already there? We have been but they are stretched thin and have their own assignments. BTW If anyone takes this thing nuclear it's going to be your guy.
