War in Ukraine

Despite all his rage against South Africa, Putin's still a rat in a cage. Enjoy never ever leaving Russia, as*hole.

There is a school of thought that is okay with this. Maybe he is just echoing his mentor

considering I was a twinkle in my father's eye at the time I would say I didn't have much of an opinion.

and I know you don't have a real argument when you have to start reusing one's Ras has already used and had to drop.

you do realize Russia put nukes in Cuba due to our intervention in other nations aligned with Russia right? ah the consequences of our own actions, if only someone had foreseen the dangers and preached some route that would have avoided escalating and involving ourselves in minor conflicts around the world into a crisis on our door step.

seems like the Cuban Missile Crisis is a pretty good argument AGAINST our own interventionalism.

"Why forego the advantages of so peculiar a situation? Why quit our own to stand upon foreign ground? Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor or caprice?"

people keep saying the FF couldn't have foreseen X, Y, and Z, but their words of wisdom and advice are still dead on regardless of the time applied.

Russia put nukes in Cuba because JFK allowed deployment of Jupiter missiles to Turkey.

wouldn’t Biden be facing similar situation with cluster munitions?
or is there a global two tier JS as well?
I don’t follow your point. I was just saying that like Satan in Hell, Putin doesn’t mind never being able to leave Russia as long as he is the boss there. Some creatures desire power much too fervently

If he leaves it's possible they'll never let him back in. What better time to stage a coup than when the boss is away. I'd love to see Putin become a man without a country.

The walls are beginning to shut for Putin, the curtain is coming down. The oligarchs will turn on him, the military has been spent.

It's obvious Putin has fewer options and friends these days. He can't conduct official business as he once did. Ukraine doesn't need to defeat Putin on the battlefield, they just need to wait him out, similarly Russia isn't capable or willing to win this war, the people are tiring of the quagmire it has become and toll it is taking on them.

Now Russia is attacking civilian grain processing and storage facilities.

I'm sure Ras will be along shortly to condemn these terrorist tactics and lecture us on how this illustrates Russia can't possibly win this war due to desperate acts such as these.

Or he'll slither out of his hole with some but....but....whatabout story.

I'm sure he'll be here shortly to condemn the strikes, being the principled man that he is.

Embarrassing that one of BRICS premier members can't attend because the rest of the world isn't letting him Deboe a neighbor.

LOL what else is he supposed to say Ras. Putin can't go because he puts those around him in conflict because of his actions. I guess this is winning!

Fair points.

But at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what either of us opine. America was founded by interventionists, and we have been and likely always will be interventionists in other countries affairs. You're just swimming upstream man.

Moreover, I think history has proven that trying to insulate and isolate ourselves from the world is simply unrealistic and counter to our fundamental beliefs. If we are the world's 'leader', what leader holes himself up when a crisis occurs? That's not leadership.

Right now we are micromanaging other branches while our own branch is losing money, deep in debt, fighting amongst itself, various parts are on fire, or underwater, and we are still pretty divided on the last power change within our branch.

I would be way more understanding of being involved more on the world stage if everything was going well at home. we need to fix ourself before we worry about everyone else.

our FF were not interventionalists, the French were. and being non-interventionalist worked great for us, we left it behind long before we faced any "consequences" of neutrality. Even before WW1 we were fighting the Spanish over half the world for their empire. Invaded Mexico twice. Got involved in a war in China.
