War in Ukraine

These are some of the troops the Kyiv regime is having to send to battle. You guys are evil going along with this nonsense.

Guess what Ras. We had guys just like that in my basic training company in 1968. Not everyone grows up hunting squirrels. A lot of those people go on to be cooks, clerks, drivers and many other occupations. An army needs all kinds of people.

No, these are the troops they are having to send to repel foreign aggression........ You guys contorting yourselves to frame a nonsense narrative are pure evil.

I had a guy in basic who got up and started running down range during live fire because the target didn't drop and he was sure he hit it. We called him bullethead, because his head was pointy.

Tank Hill at Ft Jackson was a hell of a drug.

I guess every company had one. Before we threw live grenades we had to practice with dummies. My squad was lined up about three feet apart behind a wall of sandbags. When the drill sgt gave the word we were suppose to raise up, pull the pin, throw it and get back down. He gave the word and everyone pretty much threw in unison and got down. After about a second I heard a loud clank. Some guys grenade went straight up, back down and hit the steel pot of the guy next to me. Needless to say he went through a lot of intense training before they put him on the range.

Ft Campbell. I shaved and showered in Kentucky and slept in Tennessee. There was a line painted across the barracks floor dividing KY and TN.

Pretty good big-picture view of the economic dynamic in the war. Doesn't really get into the Russian political situation, though.

That was weird. When I posted a few minutes ago the entire forum had a different (older) look and I saw my signature which hasn't been visible in a long time.

You really should educate yourself before you post; you just look dumb.

How Much Aid Has the U.S. Sent Ukraine? Here Are Six Charts.
how does that article help your argument?

It still points out that we are giving them billions of dollars.

$26.4 billion in financial loans, the money to back the loan had to come from somewhere.
$18.3 billion in security assistance, it certainly isn't free to provide direct intelligence, logistic support, or training. If nothing else there is manpower required by the US.
$4.7 billion in weapons loans/grants. The money to buy those weapons had to come from somewhere.

that's still at least 50 billion gone from our coffers. and its not like the weapons we are giving them $23.5 billion were free to us. The only argument there is that we aren't spending 23.5 NOW. and I would also hazard a guess that shipping isn't cheap for that much equipment.

Stop pretending like the only reason the US runs a deficit is because of aid to Ukraine.

Military aid to Ukraine, or any country for that matter, has zero bearing on US debt policy.
Stop pretending that the money doesn't matter.

it doesn't make sense to poor a glass of water into the pool if its already overflowing. The damage is bad enough. We are just making it worse. Which is exactly how we ended up in this situation. People just keep creating new sacred cows that "only" cost us a few billion. We have had this exact mindset for decades, and its exactly why we are in the shape we are.

the article even brings up that we are already paying 475 billion in INTEREST payments. we aren't even touching the principal. We are only covering the interest to avoid defaulting, we are literally giving away 475 billion away for nothing. IF we got rid of the mindset you are expressing we wouldn't be giving away half a trillion EACH YEAR for nothing.
