War in Ukraine

"Injuries incompatible with life" is a helluva euphemism for blown to bits.

If you say they are "dead" or were "killed" you have to pay out service benefits.

Say they are "missing" or suffered an event that is "incompatible with life", and you just have to send a bag of potatoes.

Russia has officially threatened Britain with “retaliatory strikes beyond Ukraine” if Ukraine employs British-supplied weapons against Russian targets.

The threat came in response to remarks made by British Foreign Minister David Cameron, affirming Ukraine’s right to utilize weaponry provided by London to target Russian assets within Russian territory.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in a statement published on its official website, condemned Cameron’s comments and cautioned Britain against involving itself in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The statement asserted that any attempt by Ukraine to attack Russia using British weapons would prompt retaliatory measures, extending beyond the borders of Ukraine.

“The British Ambassador was informed that the Russian side considers D. Cameron’s words as evidence of a serious escalation and confirmation of London’s growing involvement in hostilities on the side of Kyiv. N. Casey was warned that any military facilities and equipment of Great Britain on the territory of Ukraine and beyond could become targets in response to Ukrainian strikes using British weapons,” the statement said.

The British side has not yet issued a response.

This marks the first time Russia has explicitly threatened retaliatory strikes directly against a NATO member.

By this logic, Russia naturally agrees that both Iran and North Korea are legitimate targets of Ukraine now given their supplies of weapons used against Ukrainian territory.

By all means, Ivan, go ahead and launch a strike on UK interests. Let's see how this turns out for ya, partner.

Russia summons British, French ambassadors following remarks on Ukraine

Last week, Macron reaffirmed in an interview with The Economist that he had not ruled out the possibility of sending French troops to Ukraine.

“If the Russians were to break through the frontlines, if there were a Ukrainian request – which is not the case today – we would legitimately have to ask ourselves this question,” Macron said when asked if other allies agreed with him on sending troops as a means of deterrence against Russia.

Moreover, during a visit to Kyiv on Friday, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron reportedly spoke in support of Ukrainian strikes on targets in Russia with weapons supplied by London. Sky News said Cameron argued that Ukraine "absolutely has the right" to strike back at Moscow's military actions.

He should just ask we give him some nukes since Russia broke their agreement. I'm good with that. Just a few. Probably cheaper in the long run. Maybe throw in a few virigna class subs. We would save tons and Putin would tuck his tail.
Oh, and how in the hell are you going to get subs to Ukraine?

And WTF would submarines do for you in a mostly land war?

Probably not shade you want to throw Moe. Go look at the current tally of Orc naval losses including the flag ship of their Black Sea fleet in this “mostly land” wa… er… special military operation definitely not a war 😂

Yeah, large naval vessels are a thing of the past generally speaking as witnessed by this war and the problems the U.S. and U.K. Navy are having in the middle east. The U.S. could more or less give the Ukraine the whole U.S. Air Force and Navy and generally speaking there isn't much they can do with any of that in this theater of operation, as I suspect you do know. As far as I am concerned, the U.S. should start mothballing all these large battle groups, heck, they can't even keep the goat herders at bay.

I like how the guys throws in a few nuclear subs like you just give someone the keys to his Pinto. He what could go wrong with giving the keys to a nuclear powered submarine to a bunch of untrained uneducated Nazis?

Heck, I wish we would throw in the United States' Commander in Chief. 😂

Listen here Mrs. Wade, I never said don't train them. Hell, if we had started when this war started, it's taken long enoug to complete the training we subject our folks too. A few times over. I would understand your position if this war was going to last as long as Russia claimed it would. Oh wait didn't they claim it was western propaganda that they were going to invade? Is this special military operation on schedule for Vlad?

These people are so loony, I have a hard time figuring if they are actually serious.

You just wait until the United States drives an Aircraft Carrier right into Red Square. Bro, just wait till we spend a year or two training some Nazis to take over a whole Carrier Group. Like its that "easy", I've been seeing this "easy" thing popping up or implied.

The guy thinks you just train some guys for a few years, when in actuality it can take decades for various positions to be educated and trained.

I have no idea why these people think any of this equipment and weapons are of any use there. If the U.S. doesn't have meat and probably shells at this point, not much else is going to help.

This is definitely in the top 3 posts that highlight your abject ignorance of both history, and warfare as it pertains to the United States.

Hope this new tech works. Seems the Russians have been jamming both our Excalibur shells and JDAMs for awhile now. *If* it works, the landscape will change significantly for the better.

JDAM-ER Winged Bombs With Seekers That Home In On GPS Jammers Headed To Ukraine

Plans to give Ukraine JDAM-ERs with new seekers come as Western precision-guided munitions are reportedly suffering from Russian GPS jamming.
but I thought we were just giving away all the mothballed stuff that wasn't up to date and couldn't be used now-a-days?
