Because they are fools…and they live amongst us. The thought process of bureaucrats and policy wonks are unlike any other. Look at the Afghanistan withdrawal. Telegraphed every move to the enemy, got a lot of people killed and called it a success. Our “leaders” are stupid beyond belief.why does he need to travel to do that. I would figure if it was actually critical for the war effort, that dog and pony show wouldn't be necessary.
such a good thing they needed to wait for a press release to warn the enemy about it. instead of just silently giving the go ahead days ago, and letting it be surprise to Russia.Guardian: UK has decided to allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles in long-range strikes on Russia
We've also given them the green light to use ATACMS on Russian soil... Whole lotta Russian **** gonna feel some IRON RAIN soon.
Our present to you, Vlad. Like the Jelly-of-the-Month Club, it's the gift that keeps on giving. In this case, you can use the jelly as lubricant. Enjoy!

It may just be an empty threat, but I wouldn't want to take any chances.More Russian puffery...
"Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned NATO alliance leaders that a move to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of longer-range Western missiles to strike deep inside his country would be considered an act of war.
“This will mean that NATO countries – the United States and European countries – are at war with Russia. And if this is the case, then, bearing in mind the change in the essence of the conflict, we will make appropriate decisions in response to the threats that will be posed to us,” Putin told reporters on Thursday."
