War in Ukraine

Bully behavior or 190k...I certainly didn’t expect to see what I’m seeing...Kiev being pounded, civilians taking up arms a la 1945 Berlin.

If he invaded, I strictly thought it would be to push Ukraine out of the Donbass.
So this is a bad thing and Putin needs to be held accountable for war crimes. Right?

'Need a tow back to Russia?' Ukrainians Taunt Soldiers after their Tank runs out of fuel on its way to Kyiv

This is the moment a Ukrainian driver mockingly asks invaders if they need a 'tow back to Russia' after spotting their tank had broken down on a road en route to Kyiv.

The clip, shared widely across social media, appears to show an encounter between a group of Ukrainians and Russians who are said to be stranded at the side of a road outside of the Ukrainian capital.

The footage begins with the driver slowing down to a stop as he approaches the Russian tank, which has 'broken down' on the side of the road and waiting for diesel.

The Ukrainian motorist rolls down his window before jokingly offering to tow the troops back to Russia, prompting roars of laughter from all involved.

I’d say the CIA would love a crack at Putin. You know the CIA and military probably have multiple assassination plots for Putin.
I’m sure they’d love an opportunity, but I’m guessing it’s almost impossible for one our guys to do a job like that. It’s not going to be a Jason Bourne type of guy that’s gonna get him. If it were to happen It would probably be someone close to Putin or a high level official that’s been recruited over the years/decades. Hopefully it will be some high level official who is taking part in a coup to restore order and Putin sees the inside of Lubyanka. That would be a fitting ending for a KGB Agent.

It’s definitely not a good look...and I don’t see how he escapes this.

My fear is if he threatens another country, like Finland...other countries will step in...WW3.
We finally have some common ground. I’d use stronger words than “not a good look” but agree with the rest

Why Putin's '£15BILLION-a-day' invasion ISN'T going to plan: MI6 chief warns war is 'unwinnable' and ex-defence chief says Russia will run out of cash and arms if Kyiv holds out for 10 days as Moscow send in superweapons after Ukraine OBLITERATED convoy

The head of Britain’s MI6 Secret Intelligence Service has said be believes Russia’s war in Ukraine will prove ‘unwinnable’ because President Vladimir Putin will never attain political victory over the country's people.

Richard Moore, the chief of MI6, wrote how a report suggesting Putin’s forces will ultimately fail in Ukraine because it underestimated its neighbour’s military strength and fierce determination ‘makes sense to me’.

In the article titled ‘A Reckless Gamble’, Professor Freedman said Putin had ‘become obsessed with Ukraine, and prone to outrageous theories which appear as pretexts for war but which may also reflect his views.’

So here is the weapon I believe that is carried on the two Aegis equipped vessels that entered the Black Sea this week. There is one primary use for that weapon. Shoot down short and medium range ballistic missiles.

I don’t know if they carry SM-6 yet. But the SM-6 is along the SM-2 development family. I’d guess SM-3 is the goto theater ballistic missile defense for terminal phase intercepts which would be the case for launches from Russia to Ukraine. But SM-6 can do it too

There has been some discussion of the leverage Russia holds over Europe due to their decisions on energy (shutting down nuclear, etc.); do you think Putin holds leverage over (some/many/all) leaders of Europe due to the information he and his intelligence agencies have access to?

I mean, is Putin in a position to blackmail those leaders making the decisions to support or not support Ukraine right now?
