Is it really NATO "making moves" when countries want to join on their own volition? No one is forcing these countries to want to join except for the threats coming from Pootin.

No one is forcing NATO to accept them.

Desert warfare/urban combat gave the T-90’s more of an edge than the plains of Russia where the Abrams were specifically designed for combat. Russian military technology has always been overhyped for the most part just as US armor has been extremely underrated. The US isn’t trotting out Shermans and Russia gets more praise as if it’s still early WW2 and the T-34 is a great tank. By the end of WW2, the Pershing outclassed anything on the battlefield including the German Tiger, most people forget that just like they don’t realize the Abrams was developed at roughly the same time as the T-72.

I admire the Ukrainian fighting spirit. They're fighting hard for their homeland. They are a people that deserve to be helped. Not saying I want to see American boots on the ground. It's more a reflection of how we tend to deploy to countries that don't want to help themselves, like Afghanistan. Ukrainians have shown they are not afraid of the fight.

Afghans were absolutely willing to help themselves. if you haven’t read it you should check out a book called Ghost Wars. It’s not their fault that the CIA poured billions into the war and once the Soviets retreated they just left and allowed the Saudis and Pakistan intelligence to prop up the most radical factions.

This batch probably not. But Russia does have elite groups they may not be employed here yet though. But I don’t think they will cut conscripts loose with T-90’s that’s their primary MBT the Armata is window dressing they don’t have enough of them to make a significant difference.

Look at what happens to countries who aren't a part of NATO. They get threatened and invaded by Pootin. These countries wouldn't feel the need to join NATO to begin with if it wasn't for this. If Pootin doesn't want countries to join NATO then he should stop invading and threatening them.

At this point I don’t see Ukraine needs to entertain joining NATO. Looks like they are quite capable of fighting their own battles. They do need to spend heavily on creating an elite military though.

They certainly have the juice. They just need better gear.

Ukraine can want in all they want, but it is NATO that has the decision on if they can become a member. NATO could have shut this down in 2014 (really in 1999) by not expanding eastward. Obviously, that didn't happen and we are here now.

This reasoning stinks of capitulation in the face of a bully telling you not to do something. You also say "expanding eastward" as if this is an attempt at taking over Russia and that is why they decided on a pre-emptive attack in self-defense. There is no scenario I can imagine NATO ever invading Russia, much less being a threat to its sovereign territory and rights.

At the end of the day Ukraine is an independent sovereign nation that should have the ability to decide for itself. You can't blame NATO because they didn't bow to Putin wishes, that is ridiculous. If Ukraine wants to be a part of NATO and NATO wants to allow it then that is no business of Russia. They don't have to like it but it doesn't even begin to excuse a military invasion and government overthrow. The ONLY reason we don't have peace and rounds are flying is because Russia acted. There is simply no way around this.
