"Fairly and reasonably" would have been allowing Ukrainians to decide for themselves without outside influence from anyone, including Putin. But that was never going to happen.

Damn, how many times have I come in here and stated that Putin has interests in these former Soviet states, no different than we do the same. That doesn't make Putin any more or less different than any American leader. I'm under no illusion of any of that. You just chose to place words and thoughts in my words that simply are not there.

Maybe it's because I'm approaching this from a Western point of view, but I will never understand Putin. You're one of the richest men on this earth. You have everything this world has to offer, and you decide to potentially throw it all away with nukes.

I honestly don't get it and never will get it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you seem to be dissing lower income folks without so much as a mention of the huge give-aways to the wealthy and super wealthy. Some of the wealthiest people in this country got rich on government contracts and pay little or no taxes. Democrats represent small business owners, people who work hard for a living, and also the less fortunate. When you only aim at that very last part, you're missing the barn.

Nope. My beef is with politicians that play favorites - either the wealthy or the ones waiting for handouts. A flat tax on everybody on all income would change a lot of the games congress could play ... and shrink illegal incomes for most of those in congress. That you think dems don't represent the rich is BS. If they've sold you that nonsense then "You’ve been had! Ya been took! Ya been hoodwinked! Bamboozled! Led astray! Run amok!"

I understand that is in Putin's nature. But right now, the people that are holding us down and holding us back are in the position right now to run unopposed and unobstructed. What Putin represents is a counter to their agenda. That was my pragmatic position all along.

I know very well that Democrats also represent the rich, and should have so as much. The reality is that the super rich come first with Republicans, always first.

That's not true at all, the vast majority of the super rich don't vote Republican. It's propaganda from the Left as if the Koch brothers are the wealthiest most powerful people on the planet.
