World's largest Shipping Lines cut service to Russia after invasion of Ukraine

The world’s largest shipping lines, along with mail carriers such as UPS Inc. and FedEx, have all cut services to Russia after it invaded Ukraine.

Shipping giants A.P. Moeller-Maersk and the Mediterranean Shipping Company said Tuesday they are suspending container shipping to and from ports in Russia as worldwide sanctions ratchet up against the embattled Kremlin.

Maersk did say that it would allow bookings made prior to the announcement to carry on and that the suspension wouldn’t apply to shipments of food, medical, or humanitarian supplies.

Russia is additionally feeling the shipment sting when it comes to mail.

UPS announced that it has suspended all international shipping services to and from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, which is a Russian ally on the border of Ukraine that has been serving as a launching pad for some of Russia’s forces.

That’s really disgusting. I’m curious where’s the cut off to where you too would find this vial?

Is it cool to steal from people based on the decisions of their government if they are middle class? What about lower class?

At what wealth level do you stop praising looting?

One year later, Coca-Cola is eerily silent on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Russia is one of the company’s most profitable markets, as the soda giant operates out of the country as Swiss-based bottler Coca-Cola HBC. It announced last Tuesday they had contingency plans to cope with the crisis, which included stockpiling ingredients to limit any disruption in their massive Russian market.

Any country that brutalizes its own citizenry is not a dependable ally. IMO
I understand the sentiment.

But just like India’s front in China’s western reaches dilutes China’s forces - so too would the Australians entering the fray (even in a token display).

From where I sit, this looks like outright theft of a private citizen’s property. This isn’t right. No government should be allowed to do this to another person’s property.
There is no such thing really as personal property even in the West. Don’t pay your taxes and watch what happens to stuff you think you “own”. Even land, you are really just “renting” it. As Long as you pay the property tax, they will let you live there.

Aww, man. This is awesome.

Lie with the dogs, catch the fleas.

Damnation. That’s a hefty toll over a couple of days. I really do feel sympathy for many of these young men and their families. I’ve seen some of the interviews with them…most of them look like conscripts who thought they were going to be liberating Ukraine from these phantom nazis and then do a little peacekeeping.

Instead they got sent into the meat grinder.

Just because a government can come seize something doesn’t make it just. Nor does this reasoning make for a justification of taking a Russian’s (very sweet) yacht.

Factbox-What Is The Chain Of Command For Potential Russian Nuclear Strikes?

(Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the weekend that his nation’s nuclear forces should be put on high alert, raising fears that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could lead to nuclear escalation.

Here is how Russia’s chain of command would work in the event of a nuclear weapon launch.

WHO DECIDES TO LAUNCH RUSSIAN NUCLEAR WEAPONS?

A 2020 document Basic Principles of State Policy of the Russian Federation on Nuclear Deterrence called “Basic Principles of State Policy of the Russian Federation on Nuclear Deterrence” says the Russian president takes the decision to use nuclear weapons.

A small briefcase, known as the Cheget, is kept close to the president at all times, linking him to the command and control network of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces. The Cheget does not contain a nuclear launch button but rather transmits launch orders to the central military command – the General Staff.

This may be the fakest news I’ve seen. To put this in perspective 10 million barrels would last our country a total of 12 hours. So we imported 1/730th of our oil from Russia.

Major supplier? Wth?

Russia Is A Major Supplier Of Oil To The U.S.

We get about 7% of our imported oil from them, about 1/2 million barrels per day, that's pretty significant. We could easily replace that with a proper change in our current energy policy but it's still significant.

You know some people with loose lips.
It's nothing that's NOT already known.

If anyone just pays attention.

I know the questions to ask them, so that they don't have to speak it out.
There's a protocol with these things.

To many people (on VN for example) view society around the globs as still separated by "borders ". yes on the surface that is the case. But for example people in the intelligence community view The Sinaloa Drug Cartel and their counterparts as America's "Southern Army".
Not meaning South America the continent.
The Mexico Cartels are literally a massive army that seeks to protect their way of life and business through the preservation of the American Dream.
Yet our politics would paint them as an evil destructive entity in the world.
They are keeping The United States Southern border secure from invasion.

Could anyone care to extrapolate HOW this is factual?
