War in Ukraine

We get about 7% of our imported oil from them, about 1/2 million barrels per day, that's pretty significant. We could easily replace that with a proper change in our current energy policy but it's still significant.

All Biden needs to do is undo his changes to the lease policy on fed owned lands. He could change it before the end of the day if he wanted to.

Yeah I need to edit that. I see what I did. I saw the 10m that Russia produces and mistook it for the import number.

well, I just did a cursory look and the good news is the russian soldiers look like they are turning on him now. Bad news is he has started his night raids by bombing a gas line. The pilots probably can't just refuse like the ground troops.

Also, you think American government is NOT physically IN Ukraine DIRECTLY helping this war??

Why do you think they have been showing on TV "volunteers" from around the world going to help the cause??

And as much as SO MANY of you want to view United States as "America" and red vs blue... it is not the case.

Jesus, I see so many of you all GO BACK AND FORTH "Biden sucks! Trump is on Putin's payroll, Obama is Kenyan" haha!

That’s the German motto
I have to wonder how a country like Germany can decide to move their entire energy production from coal and nuclear to solar panels and wind farms and think they would be okay? Especially when they have to import natural gas from Russia to heat their homes. I hate those arrogant bastards.

Little vol and all of you need to stop spreading that **** on social, I had a talk with my kid about that. You other parents should to. We have not sent any ground troops in.

Turning on Putin? Source? Would probably be even easier for Russian pilots to gtfo if they desired. There are ways to make that known to the other side.

Biden CANCELS test of Minuteman III Ballistic Missiles to 'demonstrate restraint' and Avoid Angering Putin after his nuclear threat as Air Force puts on a show of force in Japan to deter China

The Pentagon announced Wednesday it will delay its nuclear missile test scheduled for this weekend in the midst of Russian President Vladimir Putin's attack on Ukraine so he does not 'misunderstand' the move.

Defense Department Spokesperson John Kirby said the move is a show of 'restraint' after the Russian leader put his country's nuclear forces on high alert and continues his assault on Ukraine.

'This is not a step backwards in our readiness,' he assured during his press briefing Wednesday announcing cancelation of testing intercontinental Minuteman III ballistic missiles.

Volunteers from across the world. Are you doubting that or just saying some of them may not be volunteers?

I understand what you're saying. But considering how about 80% of the people in this forum are you would be better off talking to the wind.

Huge Blast Rocks Kyiv Train Station where Desperate Locals are battling to flee Putin's Bombs as new night of attacks get underway and residents count the cost of the first week of war

A Russian missile struck near Kyiv's southern main rail station on Wednesday night where thousands of women and children are being evacuated, Ukraine's state-run railway company Ukrzaliznytsya said in a statement.

The station building suffered minor damage and the number of any casualties was not yet known, it said, adding trains were still operating despite the blast and fears of another night of brutal attacks by Vladimir Putin's forces.

Ukraine's interior ministry adviser Anton Herashchenko said the blast was caused by wreckage from a downed Russian cruise missile, not a direct rocket strike. Trains continued to run. Herashchenko added the strike may have cut off central heating supply to parts of the Ukrainian capital amid freezing winter temperatures.

A Reuters witness said the explosion made the earth shake.

Just because a government can come seize something doesn’t make it just. Nor does this reasoning make for a justification of taking a Russian’s (very sweet) yacht.
Oh I didn’t imply it was “just”. Far from it. I am just saying, property is an illusion even in capitalist USA. We remain serfs squatting in the fields at the pleasure of our Feudal Lords

I hope they sell all of these oligarchs sh*t and use the proceeds to rebuild Ukraine, assuming they manage to hold on.
Lot of people out there looking to buy an $800M mega yacht? This is what it cost to build, not what it will sell or scrap for.

Ugh, all of those countries are pretty ****** and not just the way they treat their own people but the rest of the world. I definitely don't want to associate with them.

Also 114 > 35

114 nations versus 35 that might agree with you. Sorry, but I think most of the world is against you.

I'm not in the business of being on the side of what is popular, but on the side of what is truth. The majority of people out here do not make good judgments about their own day to day lives, so how can we expect them to get this situation right?

Can you tell me his crime? Or is it just “he has more than me and a foreign accent so he’s bad”
If he's an oligarch and politically tied in I have no issues with his luxuries abroad being used as leverage to help avert indiscriminate killing and possible/likely world war...... I'd be ok with it.
