Apparently another rescue helicopter is going up. I don't think losing two aircraft due to bad weather, in the same area, is likely. I'm not going to panic yet but I hope nothing serious is happening.

Our luck, Russian AA can’t shoot down Ukrainian craft but can shoot down NATO craft not even in Ukraine.

and war theater actor is telling us this. It's what happens next that is key. A Romanian MiG-21 disappeared over the Black Sea, a helicopter SAR bird went up and disappeared off radar too now a 2nd helo is going up. So far nothing is being said on what happened but bad weather is reportedly in the area. I'm hoping a Russian warship didn't down a NATO ally fighter jet by mistake.

That's what I'm saying I don't see how bad weather brings down two aircraft back to back in the same area the odds for that happening must be huge. Nothing yet but keeping my eyes on social media.

Images like that are also being used by some elements within our media/foreign policy establishment to further draw the United States into a potential war. "Let's put a no-fly zone over Ukraine" is being thrown around in a very glib fashion by people who are far too smart to not know what such a move would mean.

As a new father myself I find my heartstrings pulled by those images in a way that it wasn't before, but at the same time think "I wouldn't be willing to risk my son's life to enter this particular conflict."

We can bring them to their knees while not cutting us off at them. I don't disagree that western Europe should have never bought Russian oil to begin with, but that's not the argument. We can both bleed the Russian economy without causing the west to spend more than necessary on oil. Weening off Russian oil will take time as the west replaces that production. Also, this is Germanys call, not the US'S.

Unfortunately that is the truth but it shouldn't be that way, Germany, Poland, France, England, and Italy have more than enough firepower to stop the slaughter but they won't.
