War in Ukraine

It's not Putins fault. We made him do it. It's us and the west fault. You should know this.
I swear Ras has a poster of Putin over his bed.

I'm trying to figure out your angle. The civilized world has three options here.

1) ignore what is happening in Ukraine and let Putin take possession of nations that do not want to be under his thumb.

2) commit to war and the consequences of a world war.

3) work in other means to fight against what Putin is doing, basically what we are doing now.

Exactly which of these are you advocating for? And why?
Ras chooses option 1. I don't think he's ever hidden that.

Putin is showing us his plan on controlling humanity right now. You want to comment on that, or nah?
What is there to say? He chose to use his military to achieve a political objective. Not a decision I like necessarily. I would have hoped that cooler heads in the West could have been honest negotiators, but apparently that is just asking too much.

Ras is not incorrect. Separate the tragedy going on at the hand’s of Putin with the typical big government reactions to it.

And notice somehow out of each crises regular citizens end up with eroded freedoms. Ras has two very concrete examples: Canadá Trucker Protest and 9/11.

It’s very likely something similar will result from this. It’s worthy of consideration.

Or better yet someone with a half a brain in Russia would've gotten rid of this clown a decade ago. Always amazed how the mob got rid of the big guys but now they let them live.

So it's not Putin's fault that Russia is invading a sovereign nation and slaughtering thousands of innocents in the process.

He chose to kill thousands of innocent civilians for political gain. That's a choice the world should never allow an individual to make.

You still don't get it, or are in denial from trumpism, but Russia has infiltrated your social for YEARS. Starting with facebook. Many of us saw it and dropped facebook almost immediately, then they took twitter.. and others. infiltrated our companies and even energy and other infrastructure. Wiping your minds and causing chaos. I know these things.

Wait, you're telling it was the Russians who wiped my mind? All this time I've been blaming it on lesbian porn.

Once again, we learn a painful lesson about letting someone like this just hang around.

While not only agreeing with @Rasputin_Vol I always have enjoyed and respected his opinion. He was one of the few posters i would have welcomed to share a cold beverage with. No longer do I feel that way. His continued deflection and excuse making for Putin has really opened my eyes. Anyone that can condone what putin is doing is not welcome at my table.

Not the point being made. Sure, he's not incorrect in that Western countries are using finances to control people. But he's totally ignoring that Putin is slaughtering people to control humanity. Both are bad, but one is clearly worse. I'm all for people not allowing themselves to be deceived, but being alive helps that.

I'm not sure where you stand on this or what point you are trying to drive home. But let me give you my perspective on this. This goes right on line with what I have been saying for a while now... but has especially been ramped up this year. They are targeting mot just traditional financial instruments but they are going to be targeting cryptos. They are wanting to close every available exit door and lock humanity on to this wicked USD or whatever system they can control. They are going to make the sheeple believe that only criminals and terrorists use cryptos and will press to have more regulations and more punitive actions taken for the sake of safety and security.

I don’t think he’s excusing one at the expense of the other. The point he is making is the economic sanctions being championed right now will one day soon be turned against the people.

When you ask freedom, democracy loving people to deny another people their right to self determination you create the conflict.

It would be the same as taking an African American's freedom simply because their former owner decided no they're still mine.

You don't see the dark, illogical hole your crush on Russia and more specifically Putin puts you in? I simply can't respect that stance, and understand it even less considering Putin's actions of killing indiscriminately to punish those who won't embrace him. And you claim you don't support it "necessarily", are you even serious right now?

I agree with you in some instances on this forum, even those I didn't I could at least respect your stance because it was based on principle. This however simply isn't defendable, it takes two to negotiate in good faith. Putin was never willing to negotiate anything other than capitulation.

Appeasement by another name- Statecraft by wusses- is still Appeasement.

I encourage you to read the author's credentials. This so-called "statecraft by wusses" -- conducted by rational men who deal with the world as it is and not as they might wish it to be -- won the Cold War.

There's a good and a bad to everything. Only stupid people refuse to see the whole picture. I'm not stupid. But if economic sanctions and seizing some yachts can help save some lives, I'm for it.
