War in Ukraine

Former presidents traditionally show a little class in these tense situations and let the new guy manage the crisis, save the partisan sniping and politics for later.

But of course that jackass has to stick his nose in and beat his chest. What a completely dick move.
Obama was the leader in this “sniping”. Unfortunately, this president is infinitely worse in every metric

I'm guessing that's a rhetorical question, but I'll answer anyway:
They are worried that they might loosen the noose Putin put around his own neck enough for him to slither out.
Now that it is obvious the he is hanging himself, they view their best move to be that of an onlooker.
Did anyone tell Zelensky that the US was turning down these planes? If they didn't, then that blows that BS you are talking about out the water, because Z was just out here begging for planes... not setting a trap for Putin.

Do you miss Russian collusion yet?

Neither. The fire was started by Putin, the damage caused by any means to extinguish the fire is all on Putin. There is no scenario where any of this isn’t on him.

The author considers what outcomes we might expect should we elect to arm an insurgency in Ukraine. You may agree or disagree with his conclusions, but his argument has nothing to do with assigning the blame for Putin's abominable invasion to the West.

'Many' are babbling nonsense, then. No serious person - especially geopolitical foes - thought Trump would go nuclear.
They thought he was the kind of guy to bust your nose if you took a swing at the U.S. and would not be intimidated into concessions that a weaker president might. Nor let this country take a backseat to the UN or NATOs interest if it didn't align with ours. That's a downside re: the NATO alliance, what Thatcher phrased as "Consensus is the death of leadership".

That's why Trump worked.
Bust your nose? lol.... Give me a break. Trump wasn't viewed as any sort of tough guy. He was viewed as a narciissistic, irrational, buffoon with limited knowledge of global affairs by our allies and as a useful idiot by our enemies.

Saudis, UAE Refuse To Take Biden's Calls To Discuss Ukraine Situation, Talk To Putin Instead | ZeroHedge

First, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro declined to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Then, India followed suit - as the Modi government attempted to balance its historic ties with Moscow and its strategic partnership with Washington.

Now, Saudi and UAE leaders are refusing to take Biden's calls as the US president tries to contain surging oil prices, according to the Wall Street Journal, which adds that the Persian Gulf monarchies have signaled "they won’t help ease surging oil prices unless Washington supports them in Yemen, elsewhere."

Any of those outcomes are via Putin.

The only ones crying right now are the people around the world having to deal with higher energy prices thanks to these silly azz sanctions.

Get your laughs in while you can...
You think they are the ones crying?.....you might want to get a clue.

Yeah… that will restore Russia’s economy. You can read that as a bed time story tonight while you clutch your Putin Russia bear I guess.

This is truly hilarious how upset you are that we’re being mean and picking on Putin 🤣

Higher energy prices suck, but you know what sucks more? Having your mom or dad, or brother or sister, or heaven forbid your children slaughtered by an invading force. So you'll forgive me when I say your comment makes you look like an effin' moron.

The American economy will survive. Russia won’t have an economy by summer unless they withdraw or present a peace deal acceptable to Ukrainians.

Where were these tears when we were smashing the Middle East to pieces?

So no different than how they view Biden...

?????
Of course Zelensky wants the planes. He is much more concerned with saving Ukraine than seeing Putin hang himself.
NATO? Evidently not so much.

Did you read the article, or are you commenting on what you've guessed it must say based on how you've interpreted the laconic headline?

I did read the article

“All available evidence on the Russian approach to urban warfare indicates that massive urban destruction should be expected. Russian military operations in Syrian cities included indiscriminate use of barrel bombs, cluster munitions, and incendiary weapons in Aleppo and Idlib. Closer to home, Putin ordered the demolition of Grozny, the capital city of Chechnya, during the second Chechen War in 1999 as part of his campaign to subdue a Chechen insurgency. Grozny became known as the most destroyed city on earth.”

You got some evidence that Weezer is a big proponent of our involvement in the Middle East? If not, what were you hoping to gain by bringing this up? Or are you just trying to make yourself feel less like a cartoon?
I'm willing to bet that even if he did show the same level of outrage and concern that he was in the minority. Everyone wants to virtue signal over Ukraine just because their favorite bad guy is on the scene, yet when the US does it, the overwhelming majority of people are silent.
