War in Ukraine

I'm almost to the point where I want to send Ukraine weapons and dare Russia to attack us. I'm tired of Putin's temper tantrum. Eff it. If he wants to end the world, let's end the world. But at least let's do it with balls.
And there it is. Its all about bravado and pride.

It makes no sense for us to agitate a military peer with nukes.

But Putin doing that exact thing makes sense and is justified in your eyes.

When a bully bites off more than they can chew and steadily escalates you can only stand by for so long. There has to be a line somewhere.

That's a metaphorical head explode, not literal. Just in case you continue to miss my sarcasm.

It's not that hard to figure out. Ever since this started the US and other NATO countries have been patrolling the skies surrounding the Ukraine & Poland borders.

We have deployed F35s to Lithuania, Estonia & Romania.

We also have F35s, F15s & F16 at RAF Lakenheath as well as a couple of B52s at either Lakenheath or RAF Mildenhall.

As you can see it appears these are armed.

Also of note we also deployed some Apaches to Latvia as well.

Lol. Ras absolutely hates the F-35.
Takes shots at it any chance he gets.

Tasty.

Does all that add up to $85 Billion .... the same as what Biden left in Afghanistan for Taliban?
If it's a close amount to Biden's heroics then both are lousy lunatic delusional leaders.

Did US Leave More Than $80B Worth of Equipment to the Taliban?

Claim
The United States withdrawal from Afghanistan put more than $80 billion worth of equipment — including 22,174 Humvees and 33 Black Hawk helicopters — in the hands of the Taliban.

False

Context

It's true that over a span of 20 years, the U.S. spent more than $80 billion to train and equip military forces in Afghanistan. However, this number does not reflect the value of the equipment that was left behind after America's withdrawal from the area. Billions of dollars worth of equipment was removed or demilitarized by the U.S. military before leaving Afghanistan. An exact accounting of the military equipment currently in the Taliban's hands is not available, though one expert estimated that the total value was closer to $10 billion.

Add a grain of salt here, but...

Ukraine has suffered around 1300 military casualties, – Zelenskyy announced the figure for the first time

Ukraine thaw could slow Russian advance in mud

Bogged-down Russian tanks are soon to become a more common sight

Having failed to make a decisive advance in the early phase of its Ukraine campaign, the Russian army is now facing a thaw that could make progression on key routes problematic due to mud.

Like the armies of Napoleon and Hitler before them, Russian mechanised divisions are likely to be slowed down or halted as unpaved roads become treacherous quagmires.

He added: "The situation will worsen as the weather warms up and the rains start, it'll just chain them to the ground."

Military historians have always known that Rasputitsa -- sometimes called "General Mud" -- can thwart even the mightiest armies.
In 1812, the retreat by French emperor Napoleon's troops could not be completed in time before the harsh winter because it was severely slowed down by mud.

More than a century later, the heavy Ukrainian soil got in the way of Hitler's march on Moscow, and later of Russia's counter-offensive of 1943.

"The weather is not in Putin's favour," tweeted military historian Cedric Mas at the weekend.

Like during those historic campaigns, the Rasputitsa is expected by the second half of March and to last for three to four weeks.

Worsening conditions will leave Russian generals little choice but to order tanks and armoured vehicles to stick to the main roads, making them more vulnerable to attack, according to Michel Goya, a military historian.

"The Four Horsemen of the Ukrainian Army: Javelin, Stinger, Rasputitsa, TikTok," Lyall tweeted.

Told you. Putin's timing was the window after the Olympics and before the spring thaw. His invasion force's extreme ineptitude and lack of advancement however is about to cause even greater logistical problems in moving heavy equipment and arms. Maybe now the fools will at least be smart enough to move armor and infantry together in support. Doubt it though.

Ukraine just keeps adding more hardware to their arsenal when not destroying it for Putin. If they survive this and Putin pulls back, I would invest HEAVILY in air defenses, fighter and attack aircraft for the future if I'm Zelensky.
