War in Ukraine

Yes, it's not that hard. Flood the market with oil and prices tumble.

If prices are up because demand is up and producers aren't scrambling to produce more then something is rotten. Either there are restrictions or a lack of competition among producers ... or both. The alternative is that it can simply take time to ramp up production, but the markets ramped up oil price long ago, so the warning about demand has been around for some time. While government policies are one problem, producers have had ample time to watch the games OPEC plays and understand controlling production keeps profits high. The question is where is the honest factual reporting telling us where the real problem lies? Some stories have stated that producers were unwilling to pump oil even at $100/barrel, some say it's the Russians, but none of them say much with fact to back it up.

You joining hog and saying we'd be better without Texas? I also get the other irony when people tend to forget that most of South and Central America were colonized by Europeans just like we were. It's just so easy to think about holding poor neighbors to the south down if we don't discuss the Spanish conquest and just consider all those good people on the other side of the border as indigenous.
So the US was liberating people in Texas?

So doing nothing because it would take a year or two is a reason to not do anything then? You know that your political party will never ever come into to power ever again because of this disaster that is what we are living now don't you?
Bold statement when we haven't even counted the votes in the midterms yet.

So Davey Crockett and Jim Bowie were defending their motherland? Or were they invaders? Or what's the term nowadays... undocumented citizens?

Who granted sovereignty to Mexico in the first place? Or did Spain just take it at the point of a sword or gun?

What are you saying? We all know The Spaniards conquered everything from the US Southwest to the Strait of Magellan (minus Brazil).

Or to the contrary. Maybe the West should have considered this before sanctioning Russia.
And whether we sanctioned him or not had absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the Ukrainian food situation. Once Russian troops crossed the border, the winter weather harvest and spring planting were not going to happen, regardless of what the US or any other country did or did not do. You can’t soil your own bed and then complain that it stinks.

That may all be true, but sanctions only aggravate the situation by removing even more items off the market.
