War in Ukraine

I hear / read more from Tucker Carlson in this thread than anywhere else. In fact, I had never seen any of his show or heard any of bis monologues until LG started this thread.

Edit: (I thought this was the Tucker Carlson will be fired tomorrow thread)
I had the same experience with Rachel Maddow. You right-wingers seem to know a lot more about her than I ever did. I had never seen her once in my life.

I honestly don’t even acknowledge CNN is a channel because I don’t watch it. Maybe you should do the same with FOX. You are coming off as very obsessed and odd.
That would be a little like saying "I don't even acknowledge Russia is a country because I've never been there and don't plan to go." I don't have to have visited Russia to understand that they are bringing pain and misery to the world.

No more Russian Rich Kids of Instagram! Moscow influencers WEEP in final posts before Putin banned the site for 'incitement of violence against Russians'

Russian influencers sobbed uncontrollably as they bid tearful goodbyes to their followers after Vladimir Putin banned Instagram in the country, cutting off 80 million users on Monday.

Russian reality TV star Olga Buzova, 36, posted a video Sunday that shows her weeping over the ban, as she tells her 23.3 million followers in a nearly seven-minute video that she feels her life is being taken away from her.

'I am not afraid of admitting that I do not want to lose you,' she said in Russian, according to the Insider.

'I do not know what the future holds. I don't know. I just shared my life, my work, and my soul. I did not do this all as a job for me, this is a part of my soul. It feels like a big part of my heart, and my life is being taken away from me.'

The inconsolable influencers have been slammed on social media for crying over the impending loss of their fans while thousands of people have been killed as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

'God, in Ukraine, people are dying, children are in the subway, there is nowhere to sleep, they have lost everything, and you are crying because of Instagram,' one user commented on an influencer's post.

Instagram ban will prevent Buzova from sharing one of her many bikini snaps with her followers

In a clip shared on Twitter by Nexta TV, an unnamed Russian beauty blogger broke down in tears and said she was in the 'first stage of grief' over the ban.

Speaking to fans in a video livestreamed on Telegram, she sobbed: 'Do you think that for me, as an Instagram influencer, this is [a] source of income?

'To me, it's [Instagram] just all life, it's the soul. It's the one with which I wake up, fall asleep, f***ing five years in a row.'

She faced furious criticism online and was accused of caring more about her pay packet rather than 'thousands of dead people, including her compatriots.'

This is sad for all of us!😪

Nothing would surprise me anymore. That aside, this is China’s “hey, look over there” moment post Coronavirus outbreak.

Time to go hellfire on any lab around the globe dabbling in things that kill people. No excuse for it; we've been down this road with nuclear weapons, and we've seen what a modified virus (not even a bioweapon type) can do to mankind. At least with enough heat, you can kill nasty stuff in a biolab unlike nukes. And that means torching our labs, too.

If China overtly supports Russia with war materiel, the US and all the West then face the prospect of what... now boycotting Chinese goods, services, etc.? Plus doing so would have huge economic consequences worldwide, and such action would seemingly effectively tighten the bond between Russia and China.

Just not good.

Our diplomats need to be spot-on in how they handle this potential cluster.

We don't have actual diplomats. We have clowns prepped by the ivy league kiddie gartens, and bought positions. When we did have what were supposedly diplomats, they couldn't figure out why "we lost China". In fact, they basically couldn't find their own butts with a searchlight and both hands.

Question for the military tacticians: If you had to deploy ground forces comprised mostly of millennial and post-millennial aged troops, who goes on the front line…tik tok influencers or social justice warriors?

Both? Letting the enemy use up ammunition on cannon fodder is sound strategy, and maybe they'll get in a few lucky shots and better the odds. When it's all over, the world would be a better place --- win/win.

So you support the government deciding who companies can trade with and where they can locate?
We may be on the same page.

If Nixon (or somebody following him) hadn't opened up China, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Remember "most favored" trading partners - that's government doing, too. NAFTA ... any of this ringing a bell?

His brain is zapped to anything prior to the night trump won🤣

People like Lawgator and Septic know more about anything science related than Malone because they watch the "news". Joe Scarborough wouldn't lie to them.

Lol, you're still mad about that scolding you took the other day? Keep my name out ya mouth kid or I'll give you another thumpin.

lol.....So you hate corporations? Or just big corporations? How big does a corporation need to be before they deserve to be hated.

Your problem goes back to the fact that corporate officers - the decision makers own and trade stock which influences their decisions toward short term profits and away from long term stability and growing markets. The same thing goes for politicians. Take away the ability to profit in stocks from politicians and large corporate leaders if you want to see things working as planned. It's not going to happen, though; and because it won't, there's no difference in politicians and the people who run large corporations. It is a conflict of interest in both cases, and that's justification for saying you can either be a politician or run a major corporation, or you and your family can dabble in the markets - pick one.
