War in Ukraine

Just get rid of the draft altogether. The government should not be allowed to lay claim to anyone's life.
why are we drafting people?

We haven't drafted anybody in years - only required them to sign up. Not my call or yours, but the call of people we foolishly elect. Perhaps there's a reason to maintain Selective Service - perhaps not, but it's still not our call. If it's going to exist, make it equal ... male, female, and whatever. Remember, though, that defunding the police sounded reasonable to many people some months ago.

That would be a little like saying "I don't even acknowledge Russia is a country because I've never been there and don't plan to go." I don't have to have visited Russia to understand that they are bringing pain and misery to the world.
At least you acknowledge CNN is bringing pain and misery to the world.

Absolutely pathetic

I had mixed feelings about those polls when I first saw them this morning... specifically the second poll. On the one hand, I thought it was BS. But then a part of me thought about it a bit more and realized that it may be some truth in those numbers. We have so much virtue signaling going on right now thanks to the propaganda. Example, I was driving this afternoon outside of Springfield and there was a home that had the American flag flying on the pole and right below it was the Ukrainian flag... in Middle Tennessee.

I simply can't wrap my mind around this country's ability to sympathize with Ukrainians, but not give a d*mn about Yemenis or Syrians or Serbians or Afghans.

Or hell, most of these people didn't even care about their fellow Americans just 3 weeks ago if they were unvaccinated.

UK government to pay residents 350 pounds a month to house Ukrainian refugees | TheHill

I was going to say where was this type of program when the Middle East wars were flooding Europe with refugees, but Then this is Britain, so they may have actually done it then.

I could see this going over well in Illinois and California... hell, with the way some of these redhats/neocons are virtue signaling, I might have to put Texas and Florida on that list, also.

I'll take one in if they bring one of those full-auto AK-74s with them.

A city reduced to Ash and sSoke: Drone footage reveals Mariupol Hellscape as Russian forces continue to Bombard Buildings and civilians run out of Food and Water as Kyiv resembles a disaster movie after constant Shelling

Drone footage has captured the moment Russian missiles turned the besieged southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol into a hellscape as Moscow's forces continue to bombard buildings and civilians run out of food and water.

Video filmed amid a blanket of black smoke rising above the surrounded port city appears to show a missile strike on a set of high-rise buildings, razing at least one of the properties to the ground.

A second piece of footage shows a string of high-rise buildings burning next to a row of charred structures that appear to have already been hit by Russian missile strikes in Moscow's relentless bombardment of the city.

Another clip shows plumes of black smoke rising above Mariupol while flashes of artillery fire continue to light-up the small port city, which has experienced some of the worst suffering of Moscow's 19-day war.

I have been led to believe that Russia never purposely hits residential buildings only NATO does that and if they do it, it was because they were provoked by Nazis
