Like I said before, Holly needs to drag Andy Landers out of retirement and bring him back home to East Tn, make him an offer he can't refuse and send Dean and Jolette down the road.

Three things. 1. Pat Summitt, like Bear Bryant, John Wooden, and Knute Rockne is gone, for good. 2. Other than the NC pennants hanging from the gym rafters, the Lady Vol program is as ordinary as dishwater. Holly Warlick, bless her heart, is not a good coach.

Keep Jolette but Dean can go

Kim didn't start Mompremier or Brown at center tonight.... she started Cave who normally comes off the bench to relieve the other two..... guess Kim wasn't to happy with their performance against Mercedes either.

I would bet Kevin McGuff at Ohio State and possibly Vic Schaefer would jump ship for Tenn. Frankly I would not take Kevin McGuff here at Tenn. IMO, he's a sleaze ball. If there's a recruit out there that is good...it means bringing Father/Mother to be assistant coach.

Those two plus Corie Close at UCLA would likely come to UT in a heartbeat.

McGuff and Schaefer are both sleezeballs, though.

Any source for them willing to come to TN or are you speculating?

Any source that they wouldn't be willing? I was responding to the notion that none of them would dream of coming ... which is a rather ridiculous statement.

ETA: Those are also the ones that are less established at their schools.

Here is the ESPN top 10:

1 Notre Dame
2 Connecticut
3 South Carolina
4 Baylor
5 Maryland
6 Mississippi State
7 Louisville
8 Florida State
9 Ohio State
10 UCLA

IMO no head coach on this list is leaving their school for TN.

You'd be surprised. Coaches would KILL to be able to recruit the level of players we attract. They'd most all do better with the players we have.

PS made her name, and this program's name, mostly in the early years of women's basketball. The game passed her by because she didn't know how to coach offense and recruiting fell off. There simply weren't very many good teams when she coached--no more than 5-10 that could compete with us. Nowadays, there are a LOT of good teams, teams are MUCH better offensively than they were 20 years ago--especially with the trey. And there are a lot of well-coached teams. You'd better have both talent AND great coaching to win. Warlick still has a 1970/1980s mentality.

Lady Vols won back to back National Championships in 2007-2008. In 2011 she went to the Mayo Clinic to try to find answers. You know the diagnoses and the end result. Looking back, she and some fans knew there was a problem as early as 2009-2010. So, are you saying the game passed her by somewhere between 2008 and 2010? During that time, life played a horrible twist on her life. I'm sick of hearing this "the game passed her by". She owned the game, she was the game!

"Post of the Day" I'm been getting tired of hearing him say the same things about Pat especially since her health started declining way before she came out publicly with it....I dunno many people in the early stages of dementia that could still coach a basketball team and have it still being a contender for a national title every year and still dominate the sec every year.

It seems odd to me that people are demanding Final four appearances or the season is a complete, utter failure. I agree we need to shoot for Final Fours but coaches names are often brought up that many think would make us a sure fire Final Four team. Mulkey is one name that always comes up. She has been to the Final Four three times. That's 3 total including the Griner years. The point is that it's hard to get there even for the so called best coaches not named Geno. We have problems but I think many on here need a reality check. Nobody goes to the Final Four every year except Geno. I'm not saying keep Holly or fire her but I think some need to understand the reality of the current state in women's basketball.

I betcha Pats goal was the Final Four or better each year she has proved with good coaching and motivation it is possible. We have zero good and no motivation for the lady vols. I say get rid of Holly bring in a good coach and we will see an immediate change for the good.

Pat's goal was the final four just as is every other coach out there and even Pat didn't get there every year. That's the thing. People act like we were there every year with Pat as coach and we weren't. We were there a lot but not close to every year. Pat went to 18 Final Fours out of 38 years and she was one of the greatest ever.

I agree 100%. Health took the game away from Pat. In fact she was considering changing her offense when things went South for her. There are far too many people trying to pin this mess on Pat, the players and the fact that it took other coaches 5 years to build a team. How many of those coaches had seven five stars dumped into their lap? Don't look it up because the answer is none. We talk about Holly making it to the Elite 8, how many top ten teams did she beat to get there? Unless things change soon, or Holly have an epiphany, Holly cannot coach, as a head coach, her way out of a D1 wet paper bag with a hole in it. The problem starts at the top and then goes downhill. Good coaches do no lose to teams like PSU, VT and dropout of the top 25 with five 5 stars. They figure out a way to get things done. I realize you can't always make it to the final 4 but that is not an excuse for coaching bad basketball.

Pat had her share of teams that underperformed, but she got to work and fixed the problem. I am not saying that Holly and staff are not trying.

If Holly has two more years on her contract after this year and the administration is not going to take action before the contract expires, she would be smart to get rid of one of the assistants and hire an offensive coach.

Pat's goal, first and foremost, was to win the SEC regular season championship, which the Lady Vols have won or tied twice under Holly. I'm not sure Holly has explicitly expressed that the way that Pat used to at the beginning of seemingly every season.

Nobody said she has to go to the Final Four every year, but some people don't understand the reality that this program will never go back to the Final Four as long as Holly is coaching....

That's not a reality. That's a belief or speculation. Nothing is going to change and it shouldn't change until the new AD comes in and has time to evaluate the coach and staff of each sport and determine if a change needs to be made. Keep Dave Hart away. Far away.
