The ones I've known here in the South have just been happy to get away from snow and cold. They immediately fit right in with southerners and I think it's because both share those qualities. It's easy to become fast friends. The ones I've known in NYC really haven't been much different tbh lol. Transplant or no - New Yorkers are New Yorkers. lol.

It's harder to get someone from the Midwest or out West to open up to you because by and large those cultures are more guarded (if you ask a lot of question they tend to think you want something). Southern and New Yorkers are the people that talk to everyone they meet and ask all kinds of questions to a perfect stranger to get to know them. That behavior is regarded as odd or suspicious in other regions.**

That said, you're going to find about the same number of good everywhere. It's just not always as easy to connect to them or find them personally but the same general proportion of good to bad exists everywhere.

**Obviously, individual behavior varies but as a group southerners and New Yorkers tend to be more outgoing.

Also, those atomic bombs were used as a deterrent. If the US military had sought to do as much damage as possible they would had resumed firebombing.

"New ideas"...you mean you want the fruitcakes that are destroying Cal, Oregon, Washington and Illinois and the upper east coast to ruin Tennessee...you may not even realize it until your headlong desire to be "open minded"...but that is the end result of your desire.

There is a great reason why people are fleeing those lunatic run states in droves and coming south...the trouble is, they bring the same "open minded" lunacy that allowed their states to be ruined with them.

I welcome everyone looking for freedom, 2nd amendment rights, low taxes and less government intrusion to come...the rainbow haired, bat💩 crazy freaks need to stay where the f they are...in their fruitcake utopias.

I know what you are talking about....we took a road trip across upper and central New York from Buffalo to Harrisburg once and rural small town New Yorkers blew mind much like rural small town California's did...they are just like every other blue collar common sense American that loves their country.

California is beautiful, but so is TN. Ill be out there in April. Got any recommendations for San Diego area?
