Ohio State fans are a funny group. A few years ago, they were unhappy with Tressel Ohio State finishing 12-1 and second in the country with a team that replaced 9 starters on defense and some starters on offense. The next year, they were upset with Tressel about a top 5 finish with a title game loss despite the fact that they lost most of their offense. Now, it's like they won't even question him.Maybe it's because Tressel is worshipped like a diety.
There seem to be a lot more murders in Columbus this year and it's probably the OSU gestapo out trying to squelch criticism of Tressel.

He's a great coach, but this has to cost him.
OSU just put themselves in a situation where they have to fire Tressel (which they won't do) or get taken down about 30 notches by the ncaa. I was watching espn and agree with Skip Bayless-This could be as close to the death penalty as we would ever possibly see again. Mostly due to the arrogance of OSU and of Tressel. It's also pretty bad when you have former players talking their a** off. I suspect more will come forward. Seems like most players don't like Tressel.
I was in Columbus yesterday, and the Ohio State fan I talked to actually told me that Tressell did not do anything wrong and that it was all the fault of the players. He said he would have done the same thing with the emails (sent to the "mentor" but not to OSU compliance) and that his signed NCAA form (that he did not know of any NCAA violations) was a non-factor! Wow, I supported CBP but never claimed he was not guilty (mainly of being stupid for lying to the NCAA).

You ask was it worth it?
Think about the amount of pressure these coaches are under to win. You guys fired a top 10 SEC coach all-time because you didn't feel like he was winning enough.
Fans will never be happy with their coach and eventually eat their own if they feel "the game has passed him by."
Look at these idiot UGA fans who want Richt gone. Who would they get that is better?
Change isn't always the right thing and it certainly doesn't every guarantee things will get better.
The answer is No, it wasn't worth it........but the pressure to win these guys are under makes every coach vulnerable to the same temptation to bend whatever rules they have to to keep their guys at the front.
People are so stupid sometimes. Even if Tressell were somehow not at fault for that, who brought these players to Columbus? Exactly, Tressell.
Agreed. I want to see Tressel and OSU have to pay the piper and feel the pain on this one.
