Are you guys nuts? Notre Dame would have beaten us just like every other good team we played last year.

Notre Dame was undefeated this season....were they better than UT......absolutely...most definately without question.....did Alabama defeat Notre Dame any worse than they did UT......maybe......but the Vols were not anywhere close to as good as Notre Dame... Peroid. Let's not try to spin this out of proportion...please

Exactly, UT scores 40-50 and loses a close game in the 4th QTR! Still think ND would be mid level in the sec and the biggest difference between them and UT this season would be coaching. ND is a "good" team with great coaching...UT is still a "good" team but has had inept coaching (not to mention a tougher shedule).

Give Saban 30 days to prepare for Tennessee and it would look much like last night.. 2012 version of the Vols probably loses by a couple of scores to that ND team...

No Tennessee could play with ND and have a 50-50 chance of beating them, thread open.:good!:

It's easy to sit at home and not play and notice how everyone else sucks and forget you were so bad you werent allowed to play.

Notre dame, lsu, florida, Oklahoma etc are good teams that lost bowk games for various reasons.

A single game does not change the body of work.

Notre dame beat stanford, Michigan, Oklahoma, usc. They were a very good team

Notre Dame was a much better team then we were this year. You would have to be out of your mind to argue that. The key word here is "Team". I beleive we did have a more talented team. Notre dame deserved to be there last night as they were undefeated but that still does not change my mind that for the past 15 years they have been the most over rated team! It does not matter what they have done the previous year, they will be a top 15 pre season. GO VOLS

No. If UT played ND with the passion when they faced NC State, UT wins fairly easily.

Ridiculous...You have a short term memory...UT couldn't stop Fulton high from scoring this season...ND would blow us out like Vandy did.

Can't be said much better than that.

You guys are nuts. ND would have scored 50 on our defense. Its like none of you even remember this past season, unreal.

We would have scored a lot on them too. I'm sure they were better this year, but our O was great. Worst D EVER took away from that.

Bama 44 - Vols 13
Bama 42 - ND 14

I agree it don't mean much but still am going to refer Bama vs Vols as the warm up game for the NCG vs ND when I come across Domer fans.

Put down the crack pipe. They beat two BCS bowl winners/ conference champs in Stanford and OU. Went undefeated. Louisville pounded UF, does that mean they would do as well in the SEC? No.
Bama played lights out inspired. Who else would have fared any better last night?

Bama was superior at every position. Inspired? They just played their game. That's all. ND was "Inspired" too. Didn't matter. My point was the Domers were a fraudulant #1. PITT had their azz at ND---until falling apart late in the 4th. I knew then that ND wasn't all that.

Overhyped about like Woodson was years ago but has had a decent pro career.Musburger was so Pro ND you wanted to puke.Once a jerk always a jerk

He usually makes me sick with his biased announcing but since he was dissing bummer , I didn't care. I stopped watching at 14-0...that's how much I hate Ala!

"Very good team" ROTF. You evidently didn't see Pitt dominate ND---then let them off the hook in OT at ND. Ole Mrs pounded the heck out of Pitt.
With a National Title on the line, A "Very good team" Shows up.

I went into this game disliking (despising may be a better word) both teams but leaning towards pulling for a ND win. After seeing dancing leprechauns and the media jizzing themselves over the thought of a ND win I was ready to see 'bama do their thing and stomp the hell out of ND.

They seriously referred to ND as the "underdog" around the the second quarter. Sorry Rudy, you don't get to be both the #1 team and the "underdog" on the same night.

Personally, I would like to forget last year and move on to a more interesting subject. Did you know that Kirk Herbstreit was run out of Ohio by Ohio State fans and now lives in Brentwood, Tennessee? Let's welcome Kirk to Big Orange Country.

Bama was favored by the line going into the game...so that would make the other team the underdog.

I love UT as much as anyone but ..........you have got to be joking to even ask such a question. Threads like this make our fan base look like....to put it nicely, not so smart.

We couldnt beat Vandy. As they say on ESPN.....Come on man!!!!!

Final scores in the two games this year were similar, but at the half vs Bama we trailed 23-10 vs. ND's 28-0. If we had a healthy Randolph and Maggitt, we'd beat em.
