I think both teams have really good backs and I think both teams are happy with their 2 best RB’s. I’d be fine keeping Etienne and Johnson, I’m sure most TN fans would say the same about theirs.
I don't know enough about your guy behind Etienne, but he'd have to be pretty good for me to want to trade our top 2.

I maybe should have asked if you view them as a 1a & 1b like we do or as a 1st and 2nd string.

Florida - 95th in the country for sacks allowed
Tennessee - 1st in the country for sacks

This, IMHO, is the key to the game. For Tennessee, ideally they would start fast and force UF to pass more often, giving the DL a chance to pin their ears back.

Should be an interesting game. I don’t think anyone knows quite what either of these teams are yet.

This game hinges on our OL play. They played poorly in the AP game.

Define “poorly”. Tennessee is currently #4 in the country for TFL allowed per game and has Jaylen Wright sitting at #3 in the country in YPC. The Vols are #4 in the country for Rushing Yards Per Game.

There is room for improvement, but I’m not sure the stats back up the description of “poorly”.

AP did something that was pretty effective. They had an automatic blitz call for 3rd and short when Tennessee seemingly always hands the ball off up the middle. They consistently brought more defenders than blockers in that scenario. Interestingly, Tennessee rarely did the “clap cadence” then stop and look to the sideline, which they did all last season. It probably would have helped avoid being in an ineffective play call.

I think Etienne is more well known because he’s the younger brother of Travis Etienne and has big name recognition, but Montrell Johnson was actually UF’s leading rusher last year and so far this year. Johnson had 10 TD’s to Etienne’s 6, also had more yards, more attempts and more catches. Johnson may also be the better pro prospect as he’s quite a bit bigger than Etienne. But don’t get me wrong, Etienne is outstanding.

Again, not trying to sell you on anything, your two guys are studs. I think it’s a situation where both fan bases can be happy with who they have.

If we had of played Utah this past wkend we would be in the same ordeal as Florida.... Florida has some talent and didn't play well... I expect their A game against us and it will take a really good game from us... We need to worry about us

I have rewatched the TN game and the UF game. After our game, I overreacted like I have done a thousand times. I honestly don’t think UF stands much of a chance. I really believe our defense is gonna be the difference maker. I think our pass rush has improved, LBs have improved and even the DBs have improved slightly. I think the offense will be better. And we have the better coaching staff and it’s not close.

This game always comes down to the LOS, and the run game specifically. We have the advantage there this year. UF OL is trash, and DL looks like our strength. TN OL has the athletic edge on UF DL and our RBs are all hungry.

In the past a royal fu on our part would lose this game. I don’t see it this year. It’s not pretty, but we win the field position battle, make enough chunk places to not stall on offense, and grit to a 34-23 win that’s never really as close as the score indicates.

I think the game could be intriguing, but I can’t get past the feeling that the Tennessee Defense is going to dominate the LOS against the UF Offense. I think this is the difference in the game.

Offensively, I think Tennessee will be able to run the ball and am hopeful that the receivers will catch a little better and Milton will throw a little better. I don’t think the Tennessee offense suddenly goes off for 45 points, but I think the Defense does what they need to do to win.

Time will tell.
I think we lose by 10, but the one thing I will say is that if we do win, it won’t be because our offense suddenly figured it out. It will be exactly what you said: our defense.

Well everyone has their opinion and I can't see us not winning by at least 2 touchdowns and probably more. Think our D will be on their QB all day. UF's D will be on the field a long time.

Pearsall does worry me. I hope Jeudy-Lally takes Hadden’s place at CB. But yes, our front 7 should control their OLine. If we can consistently get to Mertz, he’s interception prone.

Who has the better 1-2 punch at RB? You guys or us?
I think that one has to go to TN. Partly because they have a 1,2,3 punch but more because of spreading out the receivers and the fast pace. Its very hard to hide your defense against TN because of the pace and the moment the safeties line up to help in coverage you just gave TN a light box with very little support, that's a RBs dream come true unless the D has some absolute studs that can stop the run against hat on hat blocking.
