Agree, the team deserves to be celebrated! Just don’t understand the negativity or shadow this thread is trying to cast over what has been accomplished.

It’s ignorant to act as if your description of this team holds some legitimacy based solely on their productivity over this entire season. They beat really good teams this year not just Belmont and Buffalo. See that’s the key here every time this team has done something special people like you try to discredit their success. 80 and 70 pts combined in the first two rounds of the NCAA tourney but you are here sounding like a complete idiot bickering about some foolish crap. Advancing to the Sweet 16 without their leading scorer plus losing two other key players, they don’t have to pass your phony eye test. And it doesn’t matter who attempts to justify your point, at the end of the day none of this crap matters in the bigger picture. These young women are representing their school and this program remarkably. We’re dancing . Like it or not.

Did you see that experienced senior ( one of my favorites ) pass the ball off to a freshman with seemingly no hesitation for the winning shot. I really think some seniors would have tried to make the play. Great job Rae as well as Puckett.

Silly comment. If there are indications we'd fallen to the level of a mid-major, it was obviously because of the progam's precipitous performance slide over the last decade. I'm pretty sure fans are bright enough to recognize wins/losses, lack of post-season play, etc.

They ran the play that Kellie called and it was for Burrell to come off the screen set for her and drive to the bucket but she was covered by two players and wisely dropped it off to her wide open teammate who calmly shot the 3 pointer.

According to all of them, it was a 3 option play depending on what came open. Burrell, Key, and Puckett. No particular order. Rae made the best decision of her post injury comeback. And Bucketts made the shot.

The media covers the usual suspects, so unless you follow women’s basketball closely, you would have no idea on first watch how good some of the mid-majors are. In the past the same thing TN did to the AP and Coaches pollsters, UT did to their fans,,,they kept building their hopes up and when they took a chance and ranked us higher. Same with the fans, they went expecting to see a top 25 team and saw a mirage. Many fans travel 2-3-more hours to get to a game and if they see the team lose games they should win,,t,hey are reluctant to make the investment again,,,even for the playoffs. Our recent history was to under-perform...We have to rebuild everything CHW broke,,,national recognition, attendance, respect.

And this Coach is doing it,,,no matter how much Garth hates her, she has this program headed in the right direction,,,there are 19 weeks for the AP and Coaches polls...Our spots?

I know I'm not the best mouthpiece for this org right now, but I am 100 behind this coach and am satisfied with the team's progress to this point.

Are there areas that needs to still improve,,,hope so, otherwise practice would be monotonous

The folks with season tickets who sit around me are all older….late 60s. They don’t come to all of the games even though they want to due to health issues, having to drive a long way home in the night, etc. There are all sorts of reasons attendance can be down that have nothing to do with the team or the prices.

My parents, both in their eighties, made both tournament games. They held season tickets until Covid. Great that they were able to get back to the arena!

You have no idea what is going on around you. I never said Belmont was not a good team, I said they are not exactly a womens basketball powerhouse. Whether they are good, great, bad, mediocre, has absolutely nothing to do with my point. Our girls mostly play lazy and lackadaisical. No matter who the opponent has been. If you followed basketball at all, you would maybe understand. Unless you are so blind you will not see, or just don’t know enough about sports in general to understand
