Way Too Early to Tell: Oklahoma vs. Tennessee

I live in Birmingham now and was driving home from work yesterday and had the Finebaum show on my radio, had an OU fan call in. He wanted to discuss the "SEC" power and said that he could not wait until Tennessee rolled into Norman so they could beat another "SEC" team. I almost wrecked, I did not know the number to call the Finebaum show and it is probably good that I did not have it, I would hate to get banned from a show with my First call.

I could talk all day here about what could happen, I just hope we play with Strength and Determination.. not another Florida episode like last year.

I'm glad you don't know the number and hope no other reactionist Vols fan does. Let OU talk. Right now, we're in no position to trash talk anybody. Just quietly go about our rebuilding to prominence. Now, on the other hand, if we end up beating USU by 40+ points and Ark State by 60+, maybe then talk some trash. But in these recent times even FCS teams have made us breathe hard, then ask for a post game chiropractor, masseur, and manicure specialist. Let the other guys give our guys message board motivation not the other way around. May you have the worse of luck finding that phone number.

Oklahoma is a bi polar team if I ever saw one. One week they look like a team that should be playing for the National Championship and the next they barely beat some unranked team.

It's the first game of the year and they will be overlooking us. They will see a team from the SEC that hasn't had a winning season in a long time and won't pay us any attention at all. Hurd rushes for over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Malone and North both catch TD's and we beat them in Norman, 31 to 30.

It's the third game of the season for both teams.

At least our 2 early opponents should be a little more challenging. They play Louisiana Tech and Tulsa. Tulsa was 3-9 last year and 1 of their wins was against La Tech. So hopefully that extra challenge will build our kids up and the cream puffs they play will make them over confident. On paper they should beat us. But I take into consideration that when Ok beat Ala. last year in the Sugar bowl. The Bama kids had no emotion to win after being beaten out of the title picture by Auburn. That team played truly uninspired while Ok played like they were in the NC game. I can't wait for the game. I will be watching like we are going to win until we do, or the game runs out of time.
