I agree this is off topic, but what better topic to have. It was started because this guy wanted to spread His love & hopes that one person who reads it will turn to God. If your heart is hard, move on & we will continue to pray for you

Thi is silly, just because somone makes an opinion on this means their heart is hard? don't we all have the freedom to express or is it just one sided to the relgious people

Besides, most people I talk to about this say that the Old Testament is Jewish only and the New Testament is Christianity. Therefore they dismiss books like Deuteronomy and Leviticus, but they still reference Genesis, Exodus, and so on.

The OT - Jewish angle has some weight to it. Many Jews during the time of Christ did not see him as what the OT prophets proclaimed. They thought he was there to free them of Roman rule, and set up a kingdom on earth. Many of them today are still waiting for his first coming. Which as a christian his next coming will be the second described in the NT.

As to christians and the OT, "dismiss" is not really the correct description. During that time the law was what you were judged by, or your righteousness. OT prophets then revealed the coming of Christ which ushered in a new covenant with man. Christ butted heads with the Jews of the day with OT law, and the new way to God. Those that did not consider him to be the "son of God" dismissed him and continued live under the OT law.
