I believe we will beat Oregon and upset a couple of big SEC teams too. We have talent. We now have a great staff and coach. We had an 11 win team last year if not4 Dools! We may lose to Bama,Fla,Uga,or Scar,but I honestly believe we get 1 or 2 of them. I think we can go UNDEFEATED AT NEYLAND! Plus 1 or 2 upsets on the road! BOOM! A Jan 1st bowl and a lot of swagger and momentum for the 14 signing class. I believe we will have a top 5 class in 14. We all need to back our team and EXPECT TO WIN! WE SHOULD NEVER EXPECT TO LOSE 6-7 GAMES! THIS IS NOT DOOLS! We HAVE A GOOD,SEC TEAM! If Butch coaches like I believe,we`ll be a top 25 team in 13. We addressed our positions of need. We got 5 good QBs,we have a great class of WRs. We have Lane and Neal and Lee behind the number ONE O-LINE! We got immediate help on D. We will probably add a few more JUCOs on D before the AP game. Our D is experienced and talented. AND SAL IS GONE! The sky is the limit. We need our fans to show up at the O&W game and all the games. We need excitement. We will wear cool unis vs Ore and WIN 35-27! we may beat Fla! GO VOLS!

I love this optimism, but I am going to try to not buy in like I have every year just to be disappointed. I hope I am proven wrong

And I am a young man again.Got all my teeth,don't have to wear glasses or hearing aids.All of my joints work without pain and I have all the money I will ever need.

So how would you describe the defensive mishaps from last year? 3-4, dools, sal? Also saying we have 5 good qbs is a little bold at this point. all of them are unproven and only one has even played in a game for the vols. i think they have the potential to be great but lets not get ahead of ourselves. That being said, im praying your prediction comes true

I would love to believe all of this is possible, but our talent level is in the bottom half of the SEC. We have a few bright spots, but CBJ will have to be magician to finish in the top 25

No way the Vols go to Eugene with an unproven QB, new systems on both sides of the ball, and virtually no team speed compared to the Ducks and win.

Keep it within 2 scores and I will be highly impressed.

This is like fundamental niche vs realized niche. Fundamentally we all think we are going undefeated till our competition comes in and we then begin to find our realized niche. Point being, don't set your goals higher then you can reach so that you always see failure no matter the circumstances. I think best case for us is a 7-5 season plus a bowl win. To expect anything more is maniacal.

I'll agree to disagree with you on this point. Well... maybe not 11 games, but Vince and Tom probably wouldn't have done much, if any, better with last years DC and the lack of defensive coaching that became painfully obvious during games.

After 5 straight years of disappointment, I'm going into the 2013 season with no expectations.

I am sure the OP is correct. After all no other teams in the SEC improved thier coaching staff and they also stood still in the recruiting area and moved a head. Yep makes percent sense now. :blink:

I don't like the over-optimism. Problem is, when we don't live up to these kind of unrealistic expectations, "fans" start looking for scapegoats and start getting down on the players, coaches and program. Better to be a tad realistic from the get-go in my opinion.
