You may forget the part where all of our linebackers were in the hospital. The defense did keep us in some games where the offense was inept (Florida, UCLA).

Alabama and they put our offense in great position against USCjr.

Struggling against the option was not unique to CMK, we have notoriously struggled against misdirection under Chavis. Old habits are going to be broken in a single off season. I'm very interested to see how the new DC will game plan around these 'college' offenses as he's seem them all in the WAC and PAC 10.

Florida didn't run up the score, so um......yeah, UT's D kept the game close.

That's because we took away everything deep at the expense of everything else. We forced only 1 punt the entire game. That's not great defense.
