We Better See Improvement Tonight

If we continue to play a lifeless, discombobulated brand of basketball every first half of the early games, I'll be turning up the heat for "The Official Fire Coach Martin Thread." I'm still in disbelief we actually faced a double digit deficit to the almighty South Carolina Upstate. Thus far, I haven't witnessed anything new to give me the belief that his "half season" antics will be anything different this year.

Lol. And you turning up the heat will do what?

Since you think we are 2/1 it certainly explains why you are pulling for this coach.
I was doing the whole post as a hypothetical of us beating The Citadel, which is, let's face it, barely a hypothetical. It was very poorly phrased, admittedly.

The point was to convince people to not ask for firings after wins. I don't know any coaches who were fired for winning, even winning unconvincingly all of the time. You/DCVol are welcome to calling for firings after losses, and, heck, I might join in if it was against a cupcake (I definitely joined in when Dooley lost to UK, even if I didn't post it). Having said that, basketball losses are more forgivable because there are more games, so I would probably wait until the end of the season.

You can and should complain that they played/coached poorly because they have (at least in first halves), but I'd rather not see firing statements until we actually lose to some cupcake-ish team we shouldn't have. Xavier's at least mediocre.

I am pulling for Cuonzo because it's good for the program if he's good, but I'm really pulling for less reactionary threads that look silly hours/months later (like people who make threads in the football forum during a game asking why so-and-so is playing like trash, and then they have an all star rest of the game).

I didn't see the game against sc upstate. If we actually were down double digits and had to come back on this team, I feel the same way as the person who posted this thread. If we don't show up in the beginning of the season this year, we will not make the tournament this year either because we have all seen those results pan out the last 2 seasons.

We look good tonight conserding the competition. Aj davis & Robert Hubbs have surprised me. Jordan McRae looks good as usual. Give it time I think we will have a good season this yr. Looks like Cunzo lit a fire under their butts tonight. GO VOLS!

Although it was a Monday night against lowly Citadel, it's safe to say attendance could have been much better. Friday night could be even worse considering what looms largely on Saturday evening. It just seems the "tougher breed" mantra hasn't really been a big hit with the fan base.

I say the Vols should be unbeaten now. If the Vols are s serious #6 rated NCAA tourney team, then we should be unbeaten thus far with the talent there is. Are the Vols a top 20 team or just outside the top 25? Realistically, how many games will the Vols win and make the NCAA toruney? How long will it be and who will the Vols need as HC and recruits to make the top 10 or top 12 teams in the country?

This guy has to be a troll! I really can't believe he would try to put down Tennessee with this one ... Nothing could be further from the truth than what he posted! Lives in Washington, that says it all!
