We need to schedule a few difficult teams per year, but instead of finishing with 10+ losses is way worse than 4 losses, as our #9 seed proves.

If we somehow manage to beat oklahoma st., pitt is going to wipe the floor with us.

People, realize that our CONFERENCE CHAMPION only got an 8.

We weren't getting better than an 8 seed, win or lose today.

no sense in Pearl scheduling outrageous OOC's anymore, last yr a 2, this yr a 9, minus the likes of Memphis, Kansas, Georgetown and bring on UTC, ETSU, etc

LSU screwed us over guys. Look at them an 8 seed.

They were NOT going to put us above LSU despite our SoS and RPI due to the fact they were SEC champions. The committee was obviously disgusted with the SEC in general so wasn't going anywhere.

Eaton is going to eat us a live and if we survive to the second round Blair will have 10 offensive rebounds before the first TV time out.

UT shoulda been an 11 or 12.... any of you that are complaining watch games this season??? UT is out after game 1.....

I am extremely grateful for just being in the tournament after watching us play all year. I'll take the 9 seed all day long.

Anywhere between 5 and 12 didn't matter to me. I figure all those teams are the same level of mediocrity and are now just going to get to play one another.

wow. UT did screwed. They deserved a 7. ETSU deserved a 14 though, so that whole bracket went out the window. Can't say that I know Duke will beat Villanova, but I will actually be a UT fan to beat Pitt. No way can my Dukies beat them.

losing to crap teams late in the seaon! It tells everybody the Vols really aren't good. The Vols start to play decent--beating florida and sc away, and they lay a complete egg against bama--at HOME--and play a terrible game against lowly miss. state for the SEC title! When you look like sh$t in the sec title game--against a weak team in a weak conference--the committee is not going to take you seriously. Also, we only had one quality win outside of conference. I think we deserved a 7/8 seed, maybe, but when you look bad late in a bad conference, you risk getting hammered. I thought we would and it happened.

I don't like us being a 9 seed, the inconsistency of us winning a game/ losing a game fixed that. But, Okie State is not a bad draw for us, and if we get to Pitt, we match up ok with them too.

Shouldn't have played like sh!t today, boys. One 'n' done. Remainder of spring practice, O&W game, and MLB opening day right around the corner; thanks for the winter diversion, Bruce and gang!

That would be a good first round trip you can watch the Vols and Bucs. One think you have to admit we had our chances to win today. Defiently should have won.

If you look at the regional bracket it looks to be the easiest. Yes if we win against OK St. then we play Pitt in the 2nd round, but it gives us a chance to go up against one of the best. If we manage to get by Pitt the only challenge left will be the perennially over-rated Duke. I think all in all we got into a pretty good region. Obviously a higher seed would have been nice but maybe Bruce scheduled the intense regular season schedule to prepare our team to play against the best.

shoulda...coulda woulda....it always seems like the losing team says that....how odd...maybe they can regain that "focus" that they are always talking about....we'll see....

You make an excellent point about LSU and the seeding. If LSU is an 8 seed, then the best we could have hoped for, even if UT won the SEC tournament was another 8 seed. It could have very well been a flip flop with OK State and we'd be no better off.

ten certainly didn't deserve 7, IMO. I saw michigan play minnesota 10 days ago--and both were very UNimpressive, certainly not better than auburn or south carolina and very probably worse.
