...and this is why we will be in trouble Saturday. The only two potential playmakers we have, Young and Howard, are out. I'm not even sure what's wrong with Howard--who only touched the ball twice against WKU. We don't have a single guy with big-play potential on the field, though, yes, we could score a long TD if there is a breakdown of pass coverage or a missed tackle or two by the Oregon defensive backfield. And we are the most absurdly unlucky team with injuries. Maggitt hasn't played in forever. Young plays one game against little Austin Peay and breaks his wrist. On and on it goes. I feel the ill wind blowing our way again, I'm afraid.

Yeah I agree. This team has taken a hit with injuries this year. It really is unfortunate, can almost bet each one of them would make plays that the back ups can't replicate. But hey that is football. Tennessee doesn't have depth and that's why J hunt going down in Florida killed us and that's why these will surely do the same. So much NFL talent, just can't seem to get a full team around them.

Good Lord. Every team has injuries. It takes time to build depth.

Oregon having more playmakers than UT isn't exactly a revelation.

And this isn't an "ill wind blowing", it's a reality that 99% of all Vols fans know already. It's the vocal minority jumping off ledges around here.

If you scared, go to church.

Didn't Young break his wrist in practice?

This guy is going to be a playmaker, for sure.

The weaknesses on offense are the least of our worries this week. We are going against the most turbocharged offense in college football with a defense designed to stop pocket passers. Defensive stops could be few and far between. The lack of play makers (in terms of scoring really quickly) could actually benefit our defense this game. If we get 3.5 yards per play, and methodically drive the ball down field, it bodes much better than if we score in two plays and then have to throw our D back out there before they even have time to take a drink from the water bottles.

Playmakers...
I'll take North, Young, & Lane on offense. I'll take Randolph, Sutton, & Maggitt on defense.

Didn't know Howard was out.

Lane and Neal are serviceable. North will be a playmaker.

Only way we win is with perfect defense, some turnovers, and our O-line dominates.

Man, I haven't had an opportunity to catch a Vols game, looking forward to the Ducks game.

I was expecting Howard to make some plays.

North is a playmaker. Worley just cant get it to him.

If some if you guys ever listened to the coaches interviews you would notice that they repeatedly point out that north keeps running the incorrect depth on his routes and that is the disconnect in getting him the ball. I guess it's just easier to blame Worley, though.
